There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Lions from Botswana

Collared male lion was killed by humans too. There’s no real info around this story, some ppl claim they straight up hunted the male, others say he prolly attacked their livestock and this was justified, don’t really wanna get into it especially with what’s been happening in the Mara recently.

I will say tho, many many males and females alike have disappeared in Botswana, sure some of it is partly cos there’s less documentation over there, but there’s also no doubt in my mind they’re also being slaughter by humans. Chobe and Nxai National Parks are real close to Hwange National Park, and anyone who’s familiar with Cecil’s story knows how bad that place is for poaching.

@KM600 yeah the amount of poaching and trophy hunting in Hwange is ridiculous, even worse than in the Mara. Cecil is obviously the most famous and well documented case but there has been many more over the years, including Cecil’s son Xanda and Netsai, one of the two males who took over Cecil’s pride with his brother Humba. It’s a real bad situation over there and these are just a few examples there has been loads.

Sekoti on the 21st December, followed up by a photo of him with Romeo and Waziba on the same date. He was supposedly last seen on 3rd January in good condition.

Throwback to when the Renegades first went back into Marsh Pride territory but this time as dominant males. This was the first time they put a beating on Gaam and Tsunami.

The male closest to the camera in the first video is Pretty Boy II, he had a cut on his face most likely from mating rights, then the male front right is Waziba followed by Romeo, u can see the difference in bulkiness between Waziba and Romeo when they stand side by side. The video ends with Waziba by himself walking up to both Romeo and Pretty Boy II. Then obviously as u can see in the tweet below, Sekoti was trailing all of them. I heard these boys have been dominant since late 2021 / 2022.

I agree, Romeo was actually named after his grandfather cos of the resounding similarity in looks. It’s always been thought out of all the sons sired by Sekekama and TornNose or the Selinda boys altogether, Romeo is the one most resembling Sekekama, I certainly see it too.
