It’s also assumed the very first litter sired by these boys, cubs from Satau who I’m sure @BA0701 remembers from Savage Kingdom, were sired by Pretty Boy II.

I’m also very appreciative of lions who pay special attention to the youngsters, Lorkulup is one of my favourite lions for that very reason, Makhulu too. As long as the bond doesn’t get completely broken, and I don’t think it will, then Sekoti barring any illness or sudden rapid decline in health will thrive.

As for what territories they could take next, I was thinking M1 and M2, their brothers, are extremely fortunate Marsh Pride territory stands between them and the Northern Alliance. I can’t see many males wanting to see this coaltion at their doorstep.

Those young males are certainly ambitious, and appear top fear nothing and nobody. Sekoti sure has been through some tough times, though.

Wasn't Satau the female who broke away? If so, they almost tried to make her out to be the evil type sister, along the lines of Scar from LK, I never cared for the way they presented that breakaway female. There was also a female who had some cubs, the pride happened upon her den site, and they killed the cubs, but I don't recall which female that was either, I guess it is time to break out my DVDs again, it's been awhile.

Satau was the Northern Pride lioness but I don’t think she ever broke away from Marsh Pride, I don’t think she’s related to them, maybe very distantly through other coalitions many many years before the Selinda boys ended up taking over. Like u said it was weird how she come across in SK, they also made her out to be a threat to Sekekamas existence. She disappeared two years ago I believe.

The other lioness you’re on about is Matsumi. Last I heard, from a year ago, she was alive and mating with either Gaam or Tsunami.

Yes, I too, believe we are talking about the same female. Now I really need to rewatch the show, for context and clarity. But, yes, they made her seem like a threat to the Marsh Pride, and Sekekama, and most definitely Matsumi. I read an article a year or two ago, about how the entire Marsh area had been taken over by humans, and several from the Marsh Pride had been killed, including another famous female. I will see if I can find that as well.

That’d be real useful for me especially, I try to keep up to date with as many of Sekekama and TornNose offspring / former prides as possible but never delved too much into the fate of Marsh Pride or the atrocities that’s happening to it, would be much appreciated!

Having just done a search, it appears I may have had the Marsh Prides confused. As, so far, all I am pulling up is the poisoning of Bibi, and the battle with herdsmen. I have not located the exact article I had read previous, as it mentioned how the Marsh no longer resembled anything in the show, and that people were now where the show lions had been. I will continue to research, and verify if I'm correct, but right now I think I might have them confused.

That would make a lil more sense, ik in the UK atleast there was a big documentary about the downfall of the MM Marsh Pride. I’d never heard of such things happening in Botswana Marsh Pride, just that their numbers had dwindled and ppl believe this was because a lot of the members left with Sekekama and TornNose, although a lot of these members appear to be missing, such as the 4 brothers to M1 and M2.

Having spent a considerable amount of time searching this, I am certain, now, that is what happened, that I got the two Marsh Prides confused. Though, I still never located that specific article, there are countless others describing the same thing. I was unaware of a show about the Mara Marsh Pride, so when they were discussing the show about the famous Marsh Pride, I just figured they must be talking about Savage Kingdom. Apparently the area that the show about the Mara Marsh Pride was filmed in, is now full of people, and in the process many from the pride were killed.

One of the Renegades, Waziba, has an injured leg. You can see it is badly swollen, and he is trying to not put any weight on it at all. What is odd, is you can see a small hole that is leaking, right at the ankle, in the area of the worst swelling. I wonder if he hasn't been bitten by a snake.

Sekoti looking in very poor condition, considering they don’t have TB in Savuti or Botswana in general makes it hard to find out what’s wrong with him. Guides have only noticed within the last 2/3 weeks that there’s something seriously wrong with him, maybe a snake bite (my own interpretation or some other disease), nevertheless it’s taken over rapidly. It’d be such a shame for his life to come to an end after just turning 9, especially with the troubles he faced in the earlier parts of his life. Hopefully the next message I send in here about Sekoti will be about his health majorly improving.

Just seen that video and thought the exact same. He seems to be one of the stronger members so let’s hope this doesn’t keep him out for too long.

Very strange indeed, especially given I just posted the video of Waziba with what appears to be a possible snake bite as well. Sekoti has really been through it, I hope they can both bounce back from whatever is going on.

Ummm.. I’m baffled. I have literally never heard of a single case of lions being treated in Savuti but Sekoti has been. On one hand I’m so happy, this really improves his chances, especially considering he ate food after the treatment. On the other hand tho, the vets have possibly just saved a key member in the strongest coalition in Savuti. How is that fair for the surrounding lions? It would make sense if it was a HWC but Sekoti had no exterior injuries. I’m extremely intrigued to find the reason for vet care.

Hmm they got themselfs into an etic problem
What they are going to do now?
Begin to help every lion with injuries or sick like in Mara?
Just going to do the same they always did and make it seem like they didnt intervene with Sekoti?
Just say " Yeah we helped Sekoti cuz we really like him"
What about the lions that may get injured or killed by or due to Sekoti presence?
Just so many questions in the air right now
I feel like they should talk about what happend here to make things clear, why they did it, and how things will be done from here now
PS: Im glad they helped him , but we gotta be fair and racional with these type of decisions IMO

Sekoti was seen today, still on the skinnier side but seems to be recovering quite quick eventho he was only treated just yesterday. He was with one of his brothers which is a great sign as during his illness, the other 3 were keeping somewhat of a distance from him.

I spoke to a source yesterday and asked them to keep me updated if they hear anything else about him, notably what he was treated for, no answer yet but they’ll get back to me if they hear anything. I also mentioned how surprised I was he had been treated too, which they responded pretty much the exact same, not just about vet care in Savuti but Botswana in general.

Perhaps they suspect, or have evidence of, poisoning?

That’s not the worst theory but I doubt he’d have been poisoned, speaking from experience, I know ppl who had a dog that was poisoned during work, the dog and owner worked in security, and it was all over pretty fast. I don’t think it lasted anymore than 2 days, maybe not even that, and the dog was throwing up a lot. Obviously lions would react differently than dogs but Sekoti hasn’t had any of these symptoms as far as I’m aware. I seriously doubt he’d survive a week and a half after being poisoned without any immediate vet care. I, however, do agree with whatever he has possibly coming from humans hence them helping him.

The beast of the Okavongo... And, from now on, of a famous pride "the Bad Boys".

" Deep in the Okavango Delta, on the vast plains of Duba Plains, a new story of power emerges. Here, in one of the wildest places in Africa, a lion is making his mark. It's not just any lion, it's Fighter, a growing giant who is destined to become a legend.

In this brutal environment, where only the strongest thrive, Fighter has overcome all challenges. His strength and size have led him to dominate these lands. Together with his brother Hunter, they form the coalition known as the *Bad Boys*, two bad-tempered lions who have claimed their place on these legendary plains."

A Very Serious Dude. They call him “The Fighter” who along with his buddy “The Hunter” make a formidable team called “The Bad Boys”that dominate (at least for now) the Duba Plains landscape. This guy was moving with attitude and purpose the other morning to chase off a pair of intruding young males.
