So if you want to use accounts and mis-title them to try and back a debate that you and I are BOTH contributing too, feel free to do it there. You are the ignorant one here, that has been shown a few times now.

Male Lion suffering from Mange killed by a cow he was desperatly trying to kill for over an hour. Her herd came and delivered the final blow but he wasn't healthy enough to make the kill either way. Survival of the fittest at its finest.

True it is, but the laws of nature can be sad as well, neither animal gained anything from this encounter other than death, it is nature and i would rather see them both die trying to feed themselves protect themselves than see a hunter or see them starving because of habitat loss ect for sure

Still sad either way, to see them suffer from natures life.

Crocodile Lion battle
A few weeks ago these game scouts came across this huge 14ft crocodile lying dead on the sand in the Chiredzi River water course. Of course they were very hesitant to approach this huge beast but after some time they realised it was dead.

Scouts with Croc

On closer investigation they found the croc had what looked like bite wounds on its belly and around the neck. Curious as they were they took to reading the scene like we would read a BOOK. Checking out all the signs they could find in tracks in the sand, scrape marks on the tree, flattened grass and reeds they were able to piece together the puzzle.

A leopard had killed an impala and dragged it up a tree to get it out the way of hyaenas and lions. Well that’s the idea.

The crocodile had either heard the commotion or had smelt the kill and leaving the water tracked down the kill only to find it in a tree. At the same time a pride of lions had arrived on the scene. But now they were doubly puzzled. The kill they were after was in the tree AND there was an enormous crocodile at the base of the tree laying claim to the kill too. All the while the leopard was probably in the tree not daring to leave its place of safety.

The lions wouldn’t have cared less for the leopard but the 14 ft monster was something to think about. From the tracks in the sand the scouts were able to make out that there was QUITE a skirmish between the lions and the crocodile. But outnumbered the crocodile got away although it was injured and died about a 100m from the tree where the kill was.

Scarey

The lions in the meantime had MANAGED to scale the tree and steal the leopards kill. At this stage the leopard had probably climbed into the very highest branches where being lighter it would be safe from lions blundering around the tree.

This would have been QUITE an event to witness indeed. And just finding the croc there dead on the sand wouldn’t have told the story. But the great tracking skills of the Malilangwe game scouts was able to bring to us this incredible event.

amazing video of a male lion in his last hours trying desperate to kill a buffalo, incredeble how cunning and strong even a dying lion is. sadly he died shortly after this, the buffalo also died later of the injuries I read.

Here is the entire scene and what happened

I would definitely doubt that the buffalo died unless from infection of course.
The real question is in the beginning, middle and end of the video, the buffalo could of easily escaped, the lion couldn't move and was simply in defense mode, weird to see it stand over him and refuse to leave.

I would not call that defensive posture from the lion, that's more an exhausted lion. the buffalo seems confused by the whole act from the lion, it's like: should I attack him, or should I run ....

Thats as defensive as it gets, he can't move, it may have started as aggressive but that changed quickly. He has one claw snagged in its nose while the rest of his body lye dying on the ground. Gets tossed around with no resistance, its sick with mange. That animal has no hope of making a kill or defending it self, simply a brutal end but natural. He wouldn't of lasted much longer, if anything it may be violent but its quick relatively speaking. Better than starving to death over a drawn out period of time imo.

I thought you ment at the begunning, when he's just laying there, but in the end as you say he is denfensive ofcourse, when the buffalo charges. a badly beaten cat.
