There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Just for curiosity, is there a story for this photo or how can you tell, that this lion is scared? I don´t see anything indicating such :)

Sorry not, I don't know why this lion is scared. I looked at this photograph's site but I didn't see anything. Even not the place from where this photo was shooted.

But I just come to look at this photo more carefully, don't you see a croc's snout just into the water and in front of the lion ?

I see the croc, but I don´t see a scared lion :) I have seen a male lion eating a carcass in the middle of the river and crocodiles. And crocodiles didn´t dare to challenge that lion. And there is nothing in the "presence" of this lion indicating, that it would be scared :)

I´m just always curious if some photo or video has certain kind of headline, but then I can´t see claimed thing when looking/watching.

@Shadow : " I see the croc, but I don´t see A scared lion  "

I wrote "scared" because of the scar, still red, above this lion's eye.

Ok, so you meant scarred. Sometimes one letter changes whole meaning of the word :) Now it is easier to understand.

@Shadow

Ahhh sorry, it’s my fault, big error !!! I come just to check in the dictionary... A scar is a small wound which doesn’t handicap the animal and scared means panicked...

No problem and a good example for it, that how easily misunderstandings can happen time to time :)
