There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Beautiful scars! As well as a magnificent lion. Looks like etosha or Kalahari

A male lion standing, scanning and focused, scared nose and face, dominance comes at a high price and will cost you your life one day, but you do it to survive the day and protect your own @singita_ Lebombo

South Male lion made a determined march to the northern parts of Kwandwe yesterday morning in response to what must have been the Dark male lion calling on the top of the hills. This morning we witnessed the Dark male making a hasty retreat south towards Uplands. As several lionesses on the reserve approach their next oestrus cycle, South Male will be on high alert ensuring his rival has no chance in taking control of any of the prides.

"First light, the sun hadn’t made it through the clouds yet resulting in my shots being very dark and grainy so I decided to switch to video instead. Couldn’t believe the male lion just confidently strolled into a pack of about 20 hyenas and walked off with the remains of their kill, clearly he knows he’s the king of beasts! Make sure you have your sound is switched on"!!

lion attacks man at Marakele Sanctuary
Thabazimbi in SA
A tragic incident happened at Marakale Sanctuary. Info by Soula Vaso Christos: the lion was killed, but the man survived. His name is Mike Higgs and is the owner of the Marakele Sanctuary at Thabazimbi in SA. This is apparently a big cat sanctuary with cats saved from canned hunting. The gentleman made a terrible error in judgement and it nearly cost him his life...sadly the lion was killed!
