There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Hannes Lochner: " After a huge fight between 2 hippo bulls the older male died because of all his wounds and blood-loss. The carcass drifted for a few days and after the
crocodiles had their fare share, the smell attracted hyenas and they walked in carefully to drag the remains out. After feasting for a while 2 lions appear on the other side of the river. To avoid getting eaten by crocodiles they walked downriver to cross the river where it was more narrow. The hyenas ran away and the lions feasted on the remains the whole night long until early morning. Now and then the hippo bull responsible for the other’s demise walked out of the water for some strange reason, to chase the lions off. I tried to capture the whole seen, two lions feasting, hippo and the river in the background, including the milkyway that stretched across the skyline. "

I know this is off topic, but I'd like to say that I hope everyone is healthy and staying safe, because the world is going crazy right now.

@Cunaguaro

About #1584: interesting video ! The dominant male "restores" order and manners. The subadult male keeps the head low. And around 5mn30 - 5mn40, when we see him coming back inside the core of the pride, the dominant male doesn't let him out of his sight...
