The next morning we all drove out to a friend's game farm to spend the weekend. Shortly before arriving at the farm gate, we came across a fresh leopard kill of two wild dogs. One was still quivering and taking it's last few breaths of life. Colin got out of the truck to investigate but quickly got back in after seeing the leopard tracks. Wild dogs and leopards are competing predators and will often kill each other. This time the two wild dogs were no match for the leopard and the fight only lasted a few seconds.

Male Leopard Mvula spent a morning on top of a termite mound, and when the female warthog emerged, he pounced, successfully catching it. Here he is fighting to subdue the sow!

Notice how, instead of biting the throat, as they usually do, Mvula focuses on carving open the chest of the warthog. Great video.

But when they do see one, they often feel sorry for the antelope... That's why photos like these often do not get many 'likes' when posted. Taken in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia."

"On Thursday,4 August we came across this young Impala with an injured hind leg. There were a few cars and they told us that a leopard was busy stalking the Impala. Although we could not see the leopard at all in the dry grass and bushes we waited and kept our eye fixed on the injured Impala. All of the sudden the leopard strike with lightning speed and took the Impala by total surprise! The leopard then dragged the Impala into a koppie area away from other predators.
There were lots of grass and thorn tree bushes in the way,but I am glad to have these two images to share with you. The leopard is indeed the ultimate stealth hunter!"

A testimony of the perfect hunter these cats are. Even when told there was a leopard stalking, human beings on top of cars, with their cameras and fancy stuff where not able to see him until the last second...
