Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. K5 did try to mate with I think Little Amber or Amber 2 when he was alone in Djuma and when his brothers are at Londolozi on October 16, 2024. We may really not know what happened off camera if it is successful or not but he was seen trying to mount the lioness, but the lioness is not staying still for K5 to shoot (seems like the lioness is too excited).

Both he and K3 seemed to be not as interested in mating as their other brothers, but K3 is now mating alot.
I'm not sure if it is a single Nkuhuma female that K3 has been mating with during the past couple of days nor if she mated with his brothers K4 and K6 before, but im sure he has been quite busy.
Dont want to be too optimistic but i feel like this time they are closer than ever to actually becoming dominants, hopefully they won't vacate it.

Cedric or Eric mentioned him mating earlier in the week, or attempting to at least. But yes he does seem to be the least enthusiastic about it. It might be that right now he's at the bottom of the hierarchy, so when his brothers were all away, he had a go, but when they are all here, he doesn't attempt it.

It seems K3 has been mating with Ridge Nose's daughter exclusively, sometimes as frequently as every 10 minutes. So if she has cubs roughly 100 days from now, they will almost certainly be his.

I also feel like this time is different. They are all here, almost all of them mating. I think we can be cautiously optimistic.

I had a question. the lionesses are Avoca daughters? Birmingham daughters are also with them?

The Kambula males have been spending time with Ridge Nose's daughter (2016 Birmimgham daughter), and Little Amber and Amber 2 (Avoca daughters).

I think its Ridge Nose Daughter not Ridge Nose.

Nkuhuma lioness seen mating with Kambulas are Pale Eyes, Amber 2, Little Amber, and Ridge Nose Daughter. Do not really know if there are more.

Just a guess but it seems like it's not recent because of the caption saying there are storm, maybe its 3-5 days ago as there are storm/rain at that day. We really won't know until the Instagram user jessica_shillaw_ give more information.

Buffalo Calf (seems this is calf we saw earlier, the only calf in the herd)

*Seems like no one will eat until the males get their lion share, it's only K4 that is eating. *
Good to see that Nkuhumas is comfortable around the Kambulas.
