K4's mane got darker recently so you never know but my bet is that K5 will always have the darkest mane because as the youngest he has more room to darken his mane.

You're right. I had to look back, but in the end it was the absence of scars on the right shoulder that gave him away.

But seriously, these two boys. One of them needs to get a face tattoo or something. Dye his mane blue. How did you know?

Aren't you confusing K5 with K6?
K6 is the only one of the four who is not one of the littermates and he has a dark like mane.

They certainly share similarities, after all, the father is probably the same for both of them (Nhenha).

But personally i think their faces are very different.
Although i understand that identifying just by their faces can be a little vague sometimes to prove anything, but both males have different manes and characteristics:
K6 is youngest but he has a more developed and darker mane than K3, in addition he also has scars on the back and puncture wounds on one of his front legs

K3 is a little more mohawk maned and the blondest among all of the brothers, also idk how recent that is but in may 10 he had a cut on the top of his tail, if it is still present and is a permanent 'scar', it could help with the ID, even though looking out for the tail is not the best way to identify a lion imo.

Yes I meant K6, even said "the youngest", but typed K5 instead.

So I'm posting the results of the survey now (with screenshots), though this  of course is in no way an official naming, was just an interesting experiment.

K3 - unsurprisingly the results were mixed on this one, with no clear favourite. He was always going to be one of the more difficult to name.

k4 - two clear favourites on this one: 'Loose Tail' and 'Big Boy'.

I'm not a big fan of Loose Tail personally. Doesn't seem like a fitting name for the most dominant, assertive and aggressive of the coalition, in my personal opinion. And his tail's not really 'loose', but more 'limp'. And I definitely don't like 'limp tail'.

K5 - a clear favourite, and it's 'three-tooth/3tooth', which we've already started calling him anyway.

K6 - again like with K3, no clear favourite, and again unsurprisingly. It might be that names based on their age/temperament would be better suited, in which case the locals should do that.

Thanks to everyone who voted, it was cool to see people's thoughts and ideas.

The results are very interesting, for sure, but, as you mentioned, not surprising! Thank you for doing this!

I noticed this in the video of them at Nkorho as well but 3tooth's mane seems to have grown a lot recently.

K5 (3 Tooth) has such a unique face I honestly can’t tell who his potential father was. If anything I would guess Nsuku or Tinyo whereas the other boys definitely resemble Nhenha.

Slightly deviating off topic here but who do we think the likely fathers of the older Birmingham sons were? (I know there is no way to establish this and is mostly speculation but you can often tell due to similarities in appearance) I would go with the below;

Nkuhuma Male - Mfumo
Torchwood Male - Nhenha
Styx Male - Nhenha

Tinyo.

I agree with NK and Torchwood.

As for Styx, i think he is more likely Mfumo then Nhenha, as Nhenha's sons usually have darker manes, while Styx had quite blondish mane.
