A touching moment unfolded between one of the Gijima males and a Talamati lioness, suggesting the Gijima males have successfully brought another pride under their reign.

The Gijima males have full paws, with many females in their territory ready to start mating. There are very exciting times ahead in the lion dynamics in the area as the Gijima male have recently been seen mating with the Southern Pride, Talamati Pride, and Styx Pride.

On the second picture, this Talamati lioness looks like a blonder version of her late dad, DM.

"The weather was perfect as we started our evening drive. With a bit of drizzle and an overcast sky, the lions were moving a lot, as we anticipated. These lions were trying to take advantage of the wind and rain to get closer to zebra grazing in an open area in the distance. Because it was too open, they waited patiently until the zebras were hidden in the thick bushes around them before they tried to attack, but the zebra were too quick and, luckily for them, managed to escape."

@Tr1x24 can you clarify something about the Gijima's third brother if poasible?

I remember that there was a consensus that the third male was killed or chased off for good in that Mala Mala video after the fight with Ndhzengas ( video shows 2 Gijimas running from 2 Ndhzengas and later one Gijima with the injured Ndhzenga ), but I remember you saying only 2 Gijimas show up in that video ( the 2 current ones ) and showed their ID and stuff, so after that we didn't know what happened to the third Gijima.

So what exactly was the case, is it really proved Gijimas were only 2 at that time? Or did one went missing after that clash?

From what I recall. They arrived in southwestern sabis sand as a group of three. Where they spend some time harassing the local loners for a while. But something was off about the third lion, which lead to speculation that he may have been a unrelated male that only recently joined them.

Eventually the harrasment came to blow when they attacked one of the Nwas and the others ran to help. This split the third male from the core group. With him fleeing south while the rest went north.

The core group then returned while the Nwas abandoned their territory to focus on their new aquired pride in the north. The third male was last seen more in the south and then disapeared.

Thats a mystery.

There is no photos of 3rd male in Sabi Sands whatsoever.

But on their first sighting in Sabi Sands there was info about 3 new males in the area.

Later when they attacked Gore in Sabi Sabi said only 2 males:

Then few days later on attack in MalaMala , report was again 3 new males, but again only this 2 seen on footage.

So this is very strange and puzzle since those events happened.

I think its quite possible that only this 2 Gijimas where alone, and there was mistake and misscomunication for sighting of 3rd male.

Or if 3rd male was there, then he was prob not fully accepted by these 2 and only followed them around on a distance, maybe even skittish of vechicles and run away when action started, as there is no other explanation why he was not filmed once.

@Tr1x24

But at 1:50 it shows Ndhzengas chasing 2 Gijimas. Then in the end of the video it shows blond Gijima with the injured Ndhzenga.

So doesn't this equal 3 Gijimas? Wasn't DM Gijimas chased with 3rd male while blond Gijima was still around the injured male at the end?

I think footage might be mixed, MM blog also has strange descriptions which doest match footage, looks like themselves are not exactly sure what happened:

https://malamala.com/2022/03/30/unknown-...rst-blood/

"Although, reliable reports informed us that two Ndhzenga males chased one of the unknown males further west and another further south – but no further fighting occurred."

Here they said they chased 2 males separetly, but we seen here and later in Londolozi footage that they where chasing 2 males together all the time.

"The “club-footed” Ndhzenga male, sporting severe lacerations and puncture wounds to his back right leg, rump and temple, engaged the third unknown younger-looking male in a one-sided roar-off. No contact was made, but the Ndhzenga male appeared to intimidate the younger male."

"The young unknown male wasn’t seen again."

How they said it, looks that Light Maned Gijima stayed behind with WN, and was not seen again, but im quite sure he was the one getting chased with DM Gijima on first footage and later in Londolozi, as they appeared together in the south shortly after.
While theres still no footage of 3rd male.

Also, this footage confirms that 1/2 males chased in Londolozi is the same who was with WN, Light Maned Gijima:

What is strange is that Sabi Sabi said that only 2 males engaged Gore just few days prio.

So it might be only 2 males where actually there all the time, and that 3rd male there was just a rumor??

Photos of them 3 in late 2021:

Theory that he was new to coalitions or unrelated prob doesnt hold.

I think its very likely that 3rd male was not even there with them in Sabi Sands from the get go, which would make feat of 2 Gijimas attacking 4 territorial males even more crazier.

Also the two Ndhzengas who gave that chase, didn’t have any injuries or scratches post that chase.
