There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

My Masai Mara Archives - I will be taking you on a virtual safari everyday. Even though one can not be in the Savannah today, let’s enjoy it anyway. Let’s fill the internet with images from the wilderness. Here we go :-

Times were tough and prey base was low as you can see from the body structure of these two male lions. There was one meal and the big guy was protecting his meat. I title this image - “Give up or else...”

"On our way back from what had been an amazing morning I thought couldn't get better ..,I spotted a lone lioness far off in the distance in the long grasses so we decided to go & see who she was ... what a surprise we got when getting closer it turned out to be a huge male leopard & then we spotted another further off & behind, this one was much smaller & we presumed it to be a female ... I could hardly believe my eyes .... we followed at a distance as it was obvious the male was on a hunting mission & only popped his head out of the tall grasses to scout prey ...... then he turned direction & headed through a small open patch into some bushes & soon the second one followed .... only then did we see it was a young male ... as we were sitting astounded the older male burst out through a gap in the bushes & pounced.... the photos tell the story of what ensued. The scuffle probably only lasted 30 seconds but it seemed much longer then the older male headed off into the bushes where we lost sight of him & the younger male went back into the tall grasses seemingly unscathed ... if not for the photos I still think I would doubt what I had seen though my adrenaline rush lasted throughout the rest of the day"

Matt Yardley: " Brotherly not so love... Sound on for this one... a lions roar and power simply cannot be explained in words. This video captures an essence of it as two testosterone fueled brothers lock claws over a lioness in heat. It’s powerful, it’s ferocious and blood is drawn. However, they remain brothers and fiercely loyal to one another. "

The approach of Gavião male and Airumã female.

That loud paw clash at 1:12min though.  Laughing

This one is a bit more intense but too bad the cameraman misses some of the interaction.
