Daniel Rosengren: " Male lions, usually brothers and cousins, form coalitions of up to four individuals. This makes them stronger competitors against other males when it comes to territorial fights. The larger coalition you are in, the more likely you are to chase other males away. But, there is a disadvantage too, the larger coalition you are in, the more males there are to share females in heat with. In a large coalition of four, the least dominant male normally don't get to mate at all. Sometimes the female simply choose which male she want to mate and solicit him. In other cases, the males fight it out about mating rights. That is the case in this image, two brothers from the same coalition are fighting about the right to mate with a female in heat.

12-Year-Old Tiger Killed, Eaten By Another At Kanha Tiger Reserve

An adult tiger was killed and eaten by another tiger in the Kanha national park in Madhya Pradesh, an official said on Friday.

This is the second incident of cannibalism reported from the Kanha Tiger Reserve (KTR) in the last two months.

Initial probe suggests the tiger, aged 12, possibly died following a territorial fight with another wild cat, KTR field director L Krishnamurty said.

The dead feline was known as T-36 and its carcass was spotted Thursday by a patrolling party, he said.
The patrolling party spotted another tiger, identified as eight-year old T-56, eating the carcass of T-36 in the Magarnala forest area under Kisli zone of KTR, Krishnamurty said.

I put this one to this thread too since this kind of clips are rare:

This video has one of the most impressive paw swipes I´ve seen filmed. I have seen in past, maybe 20 years ago a documentary in which a male lion broke spine of a hyena with one paw swipe. This video reminds me a lot of that. 

Sounds on this video are maybe edited in some way, but that swipe really hits like a hammer and that younger lion looks like to be a bit stunned actually for a moment. He really hits the ground when that swipe lands. It looks like, that he has to take a moment on the ground and not eager to challenge that older male anymore seriously, submitting very quickly and clearly. Older male or maybe better to say prime male looks like one who knows how to make his case clear. And he moves fast also when giving those few swipes more after a moment, causing that younger to submit and stay down for good.

That "perfect swipe" in between 1:06-1:10 and some more later so, that situation ends approximately at 1:45. Maybe not the best quality video otherwise, but definitely worth to watch. Some smaller animal, imo, could have been killed from a swipe like that if hitting to the right spot.
