There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Debugging Jamhol

@Nemesis_19, Jamhol is most definitely the son of Mahaman male but his origin is from the core non-tourism area of Bandhavgarh.

The first sighting of Jamhol was in July 2021 when the parks were about to close for monsoon. He was about 15-16 months old, definitely not a full adult. At the same time, there was another massive male who was sighted for the first time. This male was then seen fighting and besting Chota Bheem (was also bigger). The video of this interaction is on this website itself.

The most likely conclusion is that this massive Core male had killed the siblings of Jamhol and had followed him into his father’s territory where Jamhol took refuge. Since then, this massive Core male has not been seen again.

What happened with Dotty female tolerating him is a bit peculiar. Jamhol was a guardian for her litter of 4 daughters fathered by Mahaman. This has been observed amongst tigers but with own cubs from previous litters. Never an unfamiliar male staying with the family, though.

Also tells you there are dynamics in tiger society we don’t yet know and understand. Cases like this open our eyes further.
