There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Spartan challenge issued!!!

The two Sparta males roaring in territory owned by the Jock males.

If they keep it up, they're going to get their asses kicked, but it's good to see their ambition and their good looks as well.

Thursday morning 29th September

During our morning drive we stopped at 8.30am at Gudzani East water hole. We sat for quite some time, the game started to come to drink. A kudu saw something and he quickly cantered off. This was because at 11am the lions arrived, there were seven lions, one lion was a white lion. After drinking they found a tree and lay down. One of the younger lions walked off and not long after we could see the other lions were watching. We turned to see zebra had arrived. Next minute there was an almighty chase and the young lion tripped then caught a zebra. We saw the whole thing happening. The other lions came to help and it took just over ten minutes to kill the zebra. We proceeded to watch the lions devour the zebra.

Jock males, credits to Matthew Hopkins from Eye On Nature.
"Is there anything more majestic in this world than a male lion? Well how about three of them!
Male lions will often form coalitions and control a pride between them. Often these males will be brothers and will all get to mate with the females to carry on their genes!"

This two males are known as the Sparta males because they come from the Sparta/Eyrefield pride. They are nomadic males now, but they spent his time in the Lower Sabie area. They are sired by the four Majingilane in 2012.
