There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

5 Mpondo males.
That was my first thought too because of the similarities in their apperiances (especially with the Sniptailed Mpondo) but the video is said to have been made lately.

Requiem for a dead king... I quote this cub's behaviour, (memory for his possibly father, they don't forget him), the elephant tusker's reaction, full of respect, when he saw the corpse... Life is cruel but life goes on.

" A sad day in the Kruger to see a deceased male lion who had not yet reached his prime.  We could only speculate as to what happened to him.   We believe he entered the territory of a stronger coalition of males that led to his demise. We think that he was part of a young coalition of males who stood no chance against the powerful s26 males.  Their strength and experience was no match.  From a distance we could see the balance of the young coalition of males edging forward to see their fallen leader.  We could see that they were very skittish, the elephants chasing them repeatedly added to their visible vulnerability.
After sitting watching for a couple of hours, a magnificent huge elephant wondered in the fallen lions direction, silence fell as we wondered what the elephant would do.  She edged forward and edged closer, the uncertainty was palpable, she seemed to sense that the lion had passed and respectfully gave him space and waled away.
It was a very emotional witness.  It might be natures' way, and survival of the fittest, but we believe we saw nature showing compassion and sorrow. "

One of these Southern Swenis: the most impressive one i think

Are they indeed sons of the former Kumana males or is this just an assumption?

And are there 3 different coalitions which own the name of Sweni for now? I know the Old Sweni pride male who lost his 2 brothers (then his pride too) and spending time with his sons since then. And the 3 current Sweni pride males + this 5 males' Southern Sweni coalition. So, three different coalitions right now, am i correct?

Yeah correct 3 coalitions with same name can be confusing. Yeah assumptions about their fathers. Another theory i have seen is they are fathered by Old Swenis but not seen any evidence for either.
