There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Just as impressive from side on, the testosterone is flowing and his mane is growing and darkening fast! The bigger Vurhami male, looking very good indeed!

All pics are Vurhami, but last two are Mjejane Male.

This morning we heard lions roaring on the river. You could hear it was only one call, so it couldn't be the pride. As we got onto the river road, we found the 2 young Vurhami males. They seemed very nervous and then we heard the roar from across the river, there he was the mighty Mjejane male.

The bigger Vurhami male went closer to the river to see where the call was coming from. When he realized it was only one Mjejane male, he also started roaring. Infuriated the Mjejane male paced up and down the river, at a later stage he went further into bush and we could still hear him, possibly calling his brothers.

The two Vurhami boys better watch their backs and make sure they have their running shoes on for when the Mjejane males arrive on Mjejane.

These Vurhami males never seem to learn when it comes to messing with the Mjejane males.

Why you think so?? If they never have confidence to challenge dominant males they will never be kings, thats how it works..

I understand that but these boys were outgunned from the start vs the Mjejane males, ESPECIALLY now that there are 2 left (and one of them isn't even healthy). Many a male lion has gotten killed due to having more confidence than brains.

Lions dont think logicly like humans do..

Also, those 2 dont have much choice tbh.. East are the territory of 5 Gomondwane males and 2 of their fathers, north are 2 monstrus Lubyelubye males and 3 massive s26 males.. So where ever they go they are in danger, theres no easy territory to gain in that area..

They are the most familiar to Mjejane Reserve so they are hanging there, especially now because 3 Mjejanes are further west now..
