There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

along with his brothers, now dominant males of the Sweni mega pride

"It takes courage to lead, especially, to lead one of the biggest prides in Kruger.
Meet one of the Mayambula males, one of the big boys that recently rules over the open grasslands of Satara and the Sweni mega pride, with more than 20 lions.
While the females are in charge of providing the pride with food, this male and his buddies, are the ones that keep the territory safe from other males that would kill his cubs and take his females without hesitation.
In this place, there is a lot to loose when you are a king, and a price to pay to maintain that rank."

The Matimba bloodline continues to thrive in the GKNP

...and they continue to create some of the largest males we've seen, stunning specimens, and those incredible manes.

6, Mayambulas? I thought there were 5, but to answer your question, I have not heard. We don't hear enough about those boys, imo.

They're 6, they don't have individual names.

Yes, although not sure of those subs status atm, they where seen getting attacked by Mjejane males after takeover, so if they survived, they prob left the pride.

Update on EBM, he was darted by the vets and taken to be tested for TB for some reason. Not clear as to where they took him or as to what happened afterwards, though. I did see a reel shared by wil_lions_life of him on S114 along the H3, but I'm not sure if it's from before or after the vets darted him.

No idea. Will be interesting to see if this was a one-off deal or something new they may try to find out how widespread TB is within the park, perhaps?

I, personally, would see that as a positive. I just hope they don't cage any of them, we've seen how that turned out for another male.

@"Brahimlegend" do you know anything about this?
