Coalitions of Kruger National Park

Anyone knows which coalition has the confirmed longest reign in Kruger and for how long they ruled?

I know Majingilanes ruled for around 8 years and it's well documented ( 2010-2018 ), West Street Males ruled for at least 8 years too ( 1996-2004 ), possibly more but it's not confirmed.

Has any other coalition ruled longer than that, which can be verified?

Currently I think Ross males may have reached 8 years in power assuming they became territorial at 5, since they are 13yo now and still in power. This is crazy because they are only 2, Majingis and WSM were 5.

Mbiris possibly will also reach this mark, being 7 years in power while approaching only 10,5yo.

@Mapokser hard to know for Kruger with limited info, but Shishaangan males (Caspers fathers) ruled from around 2013 to 2023, last year when Trichardts takeover from remaining 2.

So thats around 10 yrs.

Thats prob longest as it can get, simply because of age.

N. Matimbas ruled for around 5-6 yrs.

S. Matimbas got kicked out by Bboys after 4-5 yrs of rule, then become territorial again in 2018 for ~ 2 yrs.

That one male looks like he met up with Red Road Male.

Definitely deserving of the name 'Scarface'.

@"Timbavati" yeah, I forgot about them.

@Tr1x24 Shishangaans must at least be up there with the longest reign then.

S.Matimbas ruled for 9+ years.

Ousted by Bboys in 2015 but took over abandoned Londolozi immediately after, taking over Tsalala pride, and ruled there until early 2017 when they were ousted by Matshipiri.

Then became territorial again in mid 2018, which ended in late 2020.

2010-2020 with exception of 2017 and parts of 2010 and 2018.

@Tr1x24

2010

We had this discussion once already, the guide said they arrived in early 2010 and once they started knowing the Matimbas well they were already pushing the resident males and in Octuber they attacked and ousted Dozie, taking over his territory.

There's even photos, including injured Dozie.

Looking in excellent shape as always. He is a true beast of male lion; ageing, but still in top shape.

Legend himself !

For a ~13 (maybe more) yrs old lion, and nomad aswell, he looks unbelievable, elite genes right there.

I hope some of his offspring over the years made it to adulthood, it would be shame if these genes where not spread.
