Cheetahs  may be relocated in Hadauti, team of Wildlife Institute arrived to explore possibility

Everything was fine in Hadauti, cheetah can also be settled here in the coming years. The forests here are also favorable for cheetah. Senior Dr. of Wildlife Institute Dehradun Vivi Jhala, Dr. Sutirtha Dutta and Dr. The team of Shravan Singh Rathore visited the Sarsan Area on Saturday to explore the possibilities of cheetah settling in Hadauti.

On Sunday, this team will visit Mukandra and Bhainsragarh area. Following the visit of the Scientists of the Wildlife Institute of India, there may now be a new destination for the  Cheetah. The team of scientists and experts will analyze every aspect of the possibilities of settling it in Hadauti. Also, will study other situations from Habitat. The biggest thing is that Arindam Tamer, the then Chief Wildlife Warden during the visit of Bhainsrodgarh last day, also considered this area suitable for Cheetah's Habitat. Everything from plateau area to grassland, pre-base and other things are favorable for cheetah. The Bhaisredgarh Century area of Hadaiti is connected to the Gandhisagar Sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh. There is a movement of wild animals from Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary.

Expert Baile - Sarson, Shergarh and Bhainsrodgarh is according to the cheetah, friendly

retired DCF Daelatsingh Shaktawat told that the grassland area should be brought for the cheetah. The Sarsan, Shergarh and Bhainsaragarh areas in Hadaiiti are suitable for this. Of these, the area of Bhainsaragarh is connected with Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary and Rana Pratap Sagar. This plateau area is good for cheetahs. Retired DCF DC Jaeshi explains that the cheetah hunts ambush. For this, an area with rocky and grassland is needed. Daddevi's area may also be better. The Bhainsaragarh district is also good. Wildlife Expert Dr. Krishnendrasinh Nama explains that in Shergarh, a better Habitat can be made for Cheetahs by taking some portion of Territorial.

The Bhainsaragarh district is also a good area for cheetahs. Grassland is also good here. Its position can be cleared only after a study by the scientist in this regard.

Cheetah will come from South Africa in Sheopur, tomorrow will see wild life experts

Preparations to bring cheetah to Koono-Palpur sanctuary in Sheopur district are starting again. Cheetahs will be brought from Namibia in South Africa. On Friday, expert Dr. Yavi Jhala of Wildlife Institute of India (WLII) will come with a 3-member team to see suitable place for cheetahs in Kuno-Palpur. Cheetah project will gain momentum after team report.

Kuno Sanctuary's DFO Prakash Kumar Verma said that the forest department of the forest department has resumed work on the cheetah project. Kuno Palpur and Nauradehi Sanctuary were chosen for this. Cheetahs require small wildlife and long open field areas to hunt. They need grass to hide. The Kuno Sanctuary has long open grasslands.

Chinkara and Black Buck are in the sanctuary for cheetah food:

According to DFO Verma, Kuno-Palpur is perfectly suited for cheetahs' habitat and food. Let me tell you that the cheetah's favorite food is chinkara and black buck (black buck). Also, a field is needed for this. So that he can run and catch his prey.

4 to 6 cheetah plans:

According to DFO Verma, about 4 to 6 Cheetah Coono-Palpur are expected to get under this scheme. It will include both males and females. If sources are to be believed, the African country Namibia is ready to give cheetah to India. At present, there are more than seven thousand cheetahs in the world at present. A large number of them are found only in African countries.

Cheetahs have become rare in the country

According to DFO Verma, there are no cheetahs left from the country. The cheetah was last seen in 1948 in the jungle of Surguja. The central government is trying to restore this species. In 2010, the Center asked the Madhya Pradesh government to prepare a sanctuary for the cheetah. The Forest Department had proposed a Kuno Palpur sanctuary for the Cheetah project.

Staying 1 day, the team will see a place for cheetahs:

According to DFO Verma, senior scientist of WLII Dr Yavi Jhala will visit Sheopur on Thursday night with the team. On Friday, you will see a suitable place for cheetahs in the Kuno-sanctuary. After this, he will also visit Madhav National Park in Shivpuri in the evening.

Gandisagar Sanctuary of Mandsaur district is suitable for cheetahs

Gandisagar Sanctuary of Mandsaur district has passed the first examination of cheetah settlement. Uv Jhala, a scientist from the Indian Wildlife Institute of Dehradun and a team of three who accompanied him, visited the sanctuary for two days. Have seen the circumstances here. And in the first phase, the habitat of Gandisagar has been favored by the scientists for housing the leopard. It can be assumed that Gandhi Sagar has passed the first examination. However, long trials are yet to be conducted and four to five times the survey will be done at different levels. The four-man team returned on Wednesday afternoon.

The abundant availability of water including natural resources mountains, grasslands, tall pads, small shrubs, tubers, caves in Mandsaur district makes the Gandhisagar Sanctuary a conducive environment for all wildlife and birds. And due to this, the Gandhisagar Sanctuary has passed the first examination of cheetahs here. In fact, the Indian government has started the process of settling in India by bringing cheetahs from Africa, Iran, Namibia or any other country.

For this, four of the four sanctuaries of Madhya Pradesh are Gandisagar Sanctuary in Mandsaur District, Kuno Palpur National Park in Sheopur District, Nauradehi Sanctuary of Sagar, one of the Madhav National Parks of Shivpuri has been selected for cheetah. The government has considered these four places to be inhabited by the leopard. VY Jhala, a scientist at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun, came with three of his colleagues to decide this. About eight scientists included in the team visited the dense forest from morning to evening.

See the grasslands here. Apart from this, denseness of the forests was seen, mountains and tubers were also seen. The team was roaming in the forest till late evening. A team of scientists from the Wildlife Institute of India also visited the Gandhisagar sanctuary on Wednesday morning. The team along with the forest department officials also observed the dense forests, meadows, tall trees, natural caves and small tubers present in the sanctuary. The tour was going on till noon. After noon, the team went to meet the Forest Department officials. Now this team will visit the remaining places and decide which place is suitable for cheetahs. However, even after the selection of the committee, the cheetahs will take about three years to come to India.

The claim was already strong, even scientists expressed happiness

The claim of Gandhisagar Sanctuary was already strong in settling Cheetahs in MP. UV-Jhala, a scientist from the Indian Wildlife Institute Dehradun, who visited Tuesday-Wednesday, has considered the habitat for the leopard. However, there are many more stages of examination yet. At different levels, teams will come and survey the Gandhisagar Sanctuary. The report of all these surveys will be sent to the MP and Central Government. Further action will be taken thereafter. Then it will be decided whether the leopard will roar in Gandhisagar or in another sanctuary.

The sanctuary is spread over 368 sq km

Nestled amidst the Aravalli mountain ranges, the natural Gandisagar Sanctuary has everything that wildlife needs for it. There are grasslands here, there are kandaras in the mountain, besides dense forests. Spread over an area of about 368 sq km, the sanctuary also has other species including Kher, Ber, Palash among the wild trees. Apart from this, the most important is a reservoir filled with bottomless water. All these things provide a favorable environment for the wildlife to live in this sanctuary. About 50 leopards were found in the last count two years ago at Gandhisagar Sanctuary. Besides hyena, Wild foxes are also in large numbers. The remaining Chhut Put is also a wild animal. In the same year bird count, 225 species of birds have been found here. The forest department has already started managing their food in the plan to settle the cheetahs here. For this, deer species is being brought here and settled here. The goal is to bring 500 Chital deer from Narsinghgarh forest area in Samipi Rajgarh district. Cheetals are being caught by planting boma there. So far, around 40 chital have been released.

Good News:Tourism will increase in Baran; Cheetah may be relocated in Shergarh sanctuary if wild life team's report is positive

In the Shergarh Sanctuary of the district, the team of Wildlife Institute has visited the area recently to visit the cheetah. If its report is positive then there will be relocation of cheetah in Baran. During this time, there has been a visit in Sorsan to start the breeding of Khamor before Godavan. This breeding center will start in the new year. When Cheetah arrives in Baran's Shergarh, then wildlife life tourism will start. Wildlife diversity exists in Shergarh Sanctuary in the district. Here the conditions exist for the migration of cheetah from plateau area, availability of water in Parvan river, presence of forest, grass. The team along with the Senior Scientist of the Wildlife Institute has explored possibilities in different areas to establish cheetah in Hadauti. Recently on 23 November, Wildlife Dehradun Senior Scientist Dr. The team along with YV Jhala closely inspected the Grassland area and the plateau area of Shergarh. The team has seen Chhota Dungar, Surpa, Bada Dungar in Bargarh district of Shergarh Century besides Territorial Wall area adjacent to Khanpur area of Jhalawar. Also, seeing the grassland here, the team also liked the area. Apart from these, the team inspected Gagaron Area, Danta Area of Mukandra Reserve. If the report is positive about Shergarh, the cheetah will be relocated here. The special thing for Baran will be that wild life tourism will be started. Shergarh has a historical fort, here the banks of the river Parvan also seems enchanting in the coordination of history and nature. Senior Dr. of Wildlife Institute Dehradun in the team. Jhala, Dr. Sutirtha Dutta and Dr. The team of Shravan Singh Rathore also visited the Sarsan Area with the Kharmor Breeding Center earlier. The new destination may be for Shergarh Cheetah. The team of scientists and experts will analyze every aspect by taking chances of settling it in Shergarh. In addition to studying other situations from Habitat. Everything from the plateau area to the Grassland Pre-Base is suitable for cheetahs.

Kuno-Palpur sanctuary of Sheopur in Madhya Pradesh is favorable for African cheetahs.

A three-member Tiger Expert team from Dehradun roamed the jungles and took stock of the situation on Friday before bringing cheetahs from Africa to the sanctuary of Kuno-Palpur. The team is initially thought to be suited to the forest cheetahs of Kuno. According to the team the weather and place is suitable. A 10 to 15-member team will arrive from Dehradun in a month and a half. This team will also inspect and inspect Kuno-Palpur. The other team will collect information in detail and gather information about what is needed for cheetahs and provide them to the forest department.

Let me tell you here that the government has started preparing to shift cheetahs since the Supreme Court got permission to bring cheetahs from South Africa. The forest department saw a possibility in the forests of Kuno-Palpur in Sheopur district. There is a large number of cheetah, blackbuck deer in places to adapt to cheetahs in Kuno Sanctuary.

The team roamed many places in the sanctuary

From Friday morning to 9 pm, Dr. YV Jhala, Dean and Senior Scientist of the Indian Institute of Zoological Institution Dehradur, along with 2 other members, visited Kuno-Palpur. According to Kuno Sanctuary's DFO PK Verma, the team saw an ideal side for cheetahs in the forest of Kuno. The team said that there is enough space for cheetahs, suitable weather, water and food. The Kuno-Palpur sanctuary is covered with 750 sq km of land, which is enough.

Chital in Kuno, good grasslands with chinkara

According to the DFO of Kuno Sanctuary, there is a large quantity of chital, chinkara, black deer for hunting cheetahs in Kuno-Palpur. At the same time, grasslands are also very good for cheetahs. With which cheetahs will be able to serve.

Survey team will come to tell what changes for cheetahs

After getting the Ideal Side at Kuno-Palpur, the team members said that within about one and a half months, a team of 10 to 15 members from Dehradur would come to survey the details. What is suitable for cheetahs, what is available here and what can be improved. Will be detailed for this. Efforts will be made to make the forests of Kuno-Palpur better for cheetahs.

Cheetah will come from Zimbabwe or South Africa in Shivpuri, preparations to be brought in a year

The issue of making tiger safari in Shivpuri has resonated from Lok Sabha to even. In both houses of the country, the tiger roar of Madhav National Park has been done on paper. It was only in March this year that Parliament member KP Yadav asked questions on making a tiger safari in Madhav National Park during the Question Hour in Parliament. Before this, questions have been asked in this assembly. The forest department has also been making tiger safaris on paper for years. Currently, the plan to become a tiger safari in Madhav National Park is now on hold. But the good news is that there is every possibility of a cheetah or tiger coming to Madhav National Park within a year. Last day, a team of three scientists from the Wildlife Institute of India Dehradun saw possibilities of bringing a cheetah or tiger to Madhav National Park. The cheetah is most expected to come in it. Since cheetahs are on the verge of extinction in India, they are called Zimbabwe or South Africa

The biggest challenge in bringing cheetahs to Madhav National Park is about safety. The team believes that at least 12 feet of fencing will have to be done around the park for the cheetah. So that the cheetah cannot go out. Apart from this, he will have to make more changes in the environment so that he can adapt to the cheetah. The forest department has shown three to four places to the scientists where the cheetah can be inhabited.

Cheetah will live in open environment, it will also be able to hunt.

The Tiger Safari was started in 1988 inside the National Park on the initiative of the then Union Minister Madhavrao Scindia. There were tigers named Gourmet and Tara whose number reached 10 at one time. At that time, the tiger lived in a closed environment, ie a large pijinre. This time the cheetah will come in an open environment. There will also be chital etc. in his area which he will be able to hunt.

Cheetah or tiger is necessary for eco system to attract tourists

A forest has its own eco system. It is also necessary to have hunter animals so that balance is maintained. This eco system will be completed with the arrival of a cheetah or tiger in the park. On the other hand, it will increase tourism and it will become a center of attraction among tourists. This will not only develop the park, but will also directly increase more employment.

These challenges are coming

- Many farms are also in the park. The cheetah has the nature of running at a quiet pace. In the field, he finds a good place to run, so he runs to that side.

- Jhansi highway passes through the park. Also, people enter the park incorrectly. It is necessary to cover the park for this.

- The construction of 12 feet of fence around the park is years of work and the expense is very high because the area of the park is very large. Only after accepting the proposal to bring cheetah, its work can be done on a war footing.

Version

The team at the Wildlife Institute has seen the possibility of bringing in a cheetah or tiger two days ago. We have shown them at some places. Now his team will take further decision. We hope to have a cheetah within a year which will be brought from Zimbabwe or South Africa.

MP: WII team in Nauradehi for cheetah relocation survey

BHOPAL: A team from Wildlife Institute of India (WII), on the lookout for a site for the much awaited translocation of cheetahs from Africa, arrived at Nauradehi Sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh on Monday for a feasibility survey.

Nauradehi is among four locations shortlisted in MP. The team has already inspected the three others — Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary, Kuno National Park and Madhav National Park.

According to sources, cheetahs will not be relocated in one forest area alone. “Ek nahi anek (not one but many),” said Ranjit Singh, former WII director and the most senior member of the team supervising the project. “The cheetah will be relocated in more places in India as and when we get suitable sites. We want its relocation in the wild, and not in safaris,” he added.

Talking exclusively with TOI, Singh said, “There are more places to be assessed for cheetah relocation. This includes Bihar. The cheetahs may be brought from South Africa or Namibia.”

On January 28 this year, Supreme Court had allowed the Centre to introduce the African cheetah in India. The apex court set up a three-member committee, comprising Singh, DG-WII Dhananjay Mohan and DIG-wildlife, ministry of environment and forests, to guide National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) in taking a decision on the issue.

While the 1,197sqkm Nauradehi sanctuary is spread over four districts (Sagar, Damoh, Narsinghpur and Raisen), Gandhi Sagar straddles Mandsaur and Neemuch districts, Kuno-Palpur is in Sheopur and Madhav National Park is in neighbouring Shivpuri.

In 2019, when cheetah relocation came up for hearing in Supreme Court before a bench comprising Justice S A Bobde and Justice Deepak Gupta, a counsel for NTCA had told the court that the authority suggests Nauradehi for the project.

A senior officer in Madhya Pradesh said, “Nauradehi was ready (for the relocation) and the only issue with the forest is the presence of almost 60 villages in the jungle. They are yet to be relocated.”

“Besides other issues, the commitment of the state government to fulfil all requirements is a must,” Singh said. The WII team is likely to visit Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve in Kota, Rajasthan, next.

Nauradehi, spread over 1197 sq km, has large grasslands here, so African cheetahs can settle

Preparations for their settlement in Kuno -Palpur and Nauradehi Century of the state have intensified after the Supreme Court gave green signal to bring African cheetahs to India. A team of Wildlife Institute of India Dehradun experts has reached Nauradehi Sanctuary after Kuno. The team will explore possibilities to live cheetahs here for two days. On Tuesday, the team visited Singapore and Muhali areas of Nauradehi on the first day.

Experts appeared satisfied seeing large grasslands for cheetahs. If we look at the history of Nauradehi 80-90 years ago, cheetahs have been found to have a natural habitat here. Which makes the claim of this sanctuary stronger. After the birth of three cubs from the tiger-tigress brought here two years ago, Nauradehi has started to emerge on the map of the country. DFO told that the team will reach Sarra and Dongargaon on Wednesday. The team will leave for Dehradun on Thursday.

Three places in the country were marked for cheetahs

In the past, the Central Government had identified three places in the country for African cheetahs. Among them, a century is from Rajasthan besides Kuno-Palpur and Nauradehi. Apart from these, Bandhavgarh and Gandisagar have also been included as an alternative. There is an attempt to shift cheetahs in either Kuno and Nauradehi. Koono Palpur had previously planned to settle the lion of Gir. He was groomed for the lions.

This matter got stuck. Now efforts for shifting of cheetahs started. After taking stock of Kuno-Palpur, the WII team reached Nauradehi on Monday evening. This team includes wild life expert Dr. Yavi Jhala APCCF JS Chauhan and colleagues. The team reached Dapur and then Muhli with DFO Nauradehi Rakhi Nanda and SDO Sevaram Malik at 6.30 am on Tuesday. Find information about grasslands, rivers, mountains and herbivores here.

Know from experts, why is Nauradehi a century suitable for cheetahs

Natural habitat: Evidence of natural habitat of cheetahs has been found in Nauradehi Sanctuary long back. Earlier it was not a different century. There has been movement of tigers here from Panna Tiger Reserve. Apart from Panna, there are about 150 km radius of Seoni, Bandhavgarh near Umaria, Kanha Tiger Reserve in Mandla. Nauradehi is considered a very suitable century in the direction of tourism.

Area: Nauradehi Century, spread over Sagar, Dameh and Narsinghpur districts, was established in 1975. It is spread over an area of 1197 sq km. The area of Kuno National Park is 748.76 sq km. It was founded in 1981 after Nauradehi. The queen of Dameh, Durgavati Century, is also planning to go through the corridor from Nairadehi.

Grasslands: Nauradehi Sanctuary has the highest number of open grasslands. Grounds have also been identified for keeping cheetahs in an area of about 400 sq km.

Tigers' Generation : After the birth of three cubs from tiger-tigress in Nauradehi and the three being born here, it is believed that this century is suitable for wildlife like tiger-leopard. There is also no possibility of cheetahs becoming like tiger-tigress The tiger hunts large animals while the cheetah feeds with small wildlife.

Looking for possibilities for African cheetah in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan too

African Cheetah can speed up on the land of Madhya Pradesh. The team of scientists from the Wildlife Institute of India Dehradun have found the four protected areas here (Kuno Palpur, Nauradehi, Gandhi Sagar, Madhav National Park Shivpuri) to be cheetah friendly. The best is Kuno Palpur National Park. Cheetahs can be settled there only by managing grass. There are some problems in other areas. Now this committee will visit half a dozen protected areas of Bihar and Rajasthan and submit the report to the Supreme Court. Then the study team of scientists will go to the parks which will be agreed.

The Sub Committee of the Central Empowered Committee constituted under the supervision of the Supreme Court for the Cheetah Project visited Kuno Palpur and Madhav National Park Shivpuri and Gandhi Sagar and Nauradehi Sanctuary in the state from November 23 to December 3. According to forest officials, the team consisted of senior officials, including Dr. Waibi Jhala and Dr. Vipin. They explored the possibility of living for cheetahs in the four protected areas. Scientists have found these four protected areas of the state favorable to cheetah, but where the cheetah will come, the Supreme Court will decide it.

Bihar and Rajasthan have also submitted claim for cheetah. Therefore, the committee will now visit more than half a dozen protected areas in these two states. It is noteworthy that the Supreme Court had a ban on the cheetah project started in the year 2010. In fact, the government wanted to settle Cheetah in Kuno Palpur, while this park was selected for the Gir lion project in the year 1994. A petition was filed in the Supreme Court regarding this. Since then the cheetah project was banned. In January 2020, the Supreme Court, while hearing the petition, approved the project and asked the Central Empowered Committee to inspect the spot.

Finest Kuno Palpur: Among the four protected areas, the best is Kuno Palpur National Park. Spread over 700 sq km, this park is ready for Cheetah. According to scientists, the cheetah needs two to two and a half feet of grass to hide and hunt while the grass here has a height of four feet. In this, the cheetah can neither see nor chase the prey. Therefore the height of the grass has to be limited.

Madhav National Park: Madhav National Park is another option. Spread over 355 sq km, the park also has grass and open ground. The Devi Temple project located in this park can be a big hurdle. There is a temple of Balari Mata in the park. Where a fair is held once a year. Which creates a situation of conflict every year.

Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary: It is spread over an area of 368.62 sq km in Mandsaur and Neemuch districts. It has grasslands, an open area, but the river divides the sanctuary into two. That is, only 180 square km area will be available for Cheetah.

Nauradehi Sanctuary: Nauradehi Sanctuary spread over 1200 sq km in Sagar district is favorable for Cheetah, but there are more than half a dozen settlements in the area.

Once there were 50 Cheetahs in Gujarat, now preparations to bring them back

The Asiatic lion of Gujarat has become famous worldwide. In such a situation, a project for the return of the extinct Cheetahs from the efforts of the Government of India was on the verge of approval, but it is delayed. The kingdom is believed to have been the last of the Cheetahs that had been seen in the Banni Grasslands of Kutch, which may be reintroduced to Cheetahs.

The cheetah is a unique animal of the cat variety, which can run the fastest on earth. The speed of the ants ranges from 112 to 120 kilometers per hour. At this speed it can cover a distance of 460 meters. Can catch a speed of zero to 110 km in just three seconds.

The word Cheetah derives from the original Sanskrit word Chitrakya (colored body). This animal is currently extinct in India. However, two couples have been brought from the Singapore zoo to Junagadh's Shakkarbagh zoo. The top official of the forest department said that the life span of a cheetah is 12 years. It becomes an adult in 20 to 23 months. Cheetah in Gujarat was inhabited by the grasslands of Banni in Kutch.

It is said that the Maharaja of Kolhapur spent 10 thousand pounds from Africa in 1937 to import ants for hunting. Cheetahs were seen in Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and some other areas for the next five years. But the Government of India announced the disappearance of the ants from India in 1952, when no evidence was found. There have been several proposals in India to resettle the ants after 1970, but the government has not agreed. The Supreme Court had earlier allowed the Center to house the Cheetah. The Cheetah should settle wherever he can settle.

It is said that the largest number of cheetahs in the world is in six countries of Africa. There were 1200 Cheetahs in Zimbabwe two decades ago, today there are about 175. The world's cheetah population is 7,100. The project was considered by Jairam Ramesh in the UPA government in 2009 and now the Modi government is going to approve it. The government of India has selected Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, besides Gujarat, to settle the cheetah. There are 10 sites in these five states where rehabilitation is possible.

According to the forest officer, Cheetahs can be settled in Kuno-Palpur, Nauradehi in Madhya Pradesh, Moyar in Tamil Nadu, Tal Chhapar in Rajasthan, Shahgarh, Velavadar in Gujarat and Banni areas in Kutch. A report by The Wildlife Institute of India and Wildlife Trust of India states that the Banni area of Kutch in Gujarat is a good place to bring cheetahs to India, where the cheetah can find open fields. However, The National Tiger Conservative Authority had cited the place of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. The Gujarat government could not present its claim at this time.

Banni was not mentioned in the report, while Banni had 50 cheetahs at one time. A state forest department official said that the cheetahs love grasslands and Banni’s grassland is the best for him. Apart from this, the township of Zarakh in the mountainous region is good. Now if the Chief Minister of the state, Vijay Rupani, proposes to the Center, the Central Government can bring the cheetah from outside India by mentioning Kutch in Gujarat.

Whether or not the Madhya Pradesh government is ready for the Cheetah project in Kuno Sanctuary, a decision will be taken in the board meeting

The Kuno Palpur Sanctuary is the most suitable for the Cheetah project, but the state government will decide whether the Cheetah will be inhabited there. This issue is being brought in the meeting of the State Wildlife Board (State Wildlife Board). The government has formed the board and the first meeting is likely in January 2021. In view of this, the Forest Department has started making proposals for the board. Apart from this, proposals for Kharmore Breeding Project, wild buffalo of Chhattisgarh and Assam to be settled in Madhya Pradesh, shifting of three tigers and opening new sanctuaries at Burhanpur-Sagar will also be placed before the board.

Kuno Palpur National Park in Sheopur district has been prepared for the Babbar lions of Gujarat. This park is ready to settle lions since the year 2004, but the Gujarat government does not want to give lions. The lion project has not been stopped yet. Kuno Palpur has already been preferred for the Cheetah project. Not only this, the team of experts have also found Kuno to be a cheetah. Now the state government will decide whether to establish lions or leopards in Kuno. This will be discussed in a possible board meeting next month.

However, the Cheetah project is expected to be approved. Because despite all the efforts, the Gujarat government is not giving the tiger and every time it is finding a new deficiency in the preparations. Gujarat officials, who visited Kuno last year, were conditioned to meet the international criteria for lion shifting. These are 35 criteria. Of these, the Madhya Pradesh government has fulfilled about 20 criteria. The remaining criteria have to take longer to meet, which can be met even after shifting lions. Yet the Gujarat government is not ready to accept.

These proposals will also come before the board

The board meeting also proposed to bring Kharmore Breeding Project, wild buffalo from Chhattisgarh or Assam to settle in Kanha National Park, shifting of three tigers, denotifying the land of Karera and Ghatigaon Sanctuary and setting up a sanctuary in Burhanpur and Sagar districts. Have been.
