I am not sure if here even though I have watched that before. But anyway very impressive video, those bears aren´t afraid to climb high :) And also that speed....

Somewhat different kind of hunting from a bear even though they do follow prey to water time to time. Rare footage.

This site isn´t too accurate what comes to information, but that photo on 2. Appearance :) I just have to put link here. That bear is really relaxed, worrying about nothing :)

You are right site is not fully accurate. Some bias to grizzly (?) to exaggerate "great and majestic" by using vocabulary accordingly. Huh and 1 ton grizzly statement also Sad .

One reminder about it, that don´t go near bears with carcass/food.... pity, but sometimes these things can happen Sad

Here background story for one quite famous picture. At least to people who are interested about sizes of big bears.

Quite decent documentary about brown bears in Alaska. Also a lot about salmon and glimpses of other animals there. Bear part starts at 7:50 if not interested about salmons in the beginning. At 16:59 one bear looking to be quite relaxed in "Baloo style" :) Quite same as in a link I posted here some days ago, not the photo which sanju attached to reply though.

Somewhat older, but quite decent documentary about Kodiak bears. If paying attention while watching it is possible to see an elephant too....

This video was interesting (imo), when looking from 4:32 forward and seeing some old articles and photos from that time, when that bear was hunted. It´s not too easy to find some old photos and articles. If I understood right, that bear was 11 foot high, so about 3 m 30 cm, when standing on hind legs. Weighing over 1400 pounds so about 640 kg "only" :) As far as we can trust to information from that time :) Quite something really, when thinking what it would be like to face such a bear....

Here article about bears and one male named Jakki, which was weighed and collared October 2006. It is still holding weight record of known brown bears in Finland (Kuhmo), weight was 373 kg (about 822 lbs).

https://www.kaleva.fi/karhu/karhulajit/ruskeakarhu/114215/

Biggest hunted bear ever in Finland (Kuhmo) was shot late August 2011 and weight was 361 kg (about 795 lbs).

https://www.kaleva.fi/uutiset/pohjois-suomi/ks-kuhmossa-kaadettiin-kaikkien-aikojen-suurin-karhu/429659/

Third known big one was shot October 5th 2010 in Finland, Saarijärvi. That was named "Ukko" and weight was 346 kg (about  762 lbs), Ukko had been collared 2007, but no collar when it was shot.

Articles are in Finnish, so again not possible to read for most here, but at least figures can be checked. Not easy to find statistics, so I put these here to give some idea about biggest known individuals. These figures have been here before, but just if there is someone new interested about possible sizes of brown bears in Finland and Scandinavia.

Biggest captive brown bear in Finland is pretty famous big boy, Juuso bear, which in heaviest condition has been 483 kg (about 1064 lbs).

Here one new and rare footage where brown bear has been hunting adult moose. This is very new, May 8:th 2019 in Sweden. This kind of predation has been well known thing to happen, but it is so rare, that someone is there with some kind of camera when it actually happens. Usually people just find carcasses and can see from tracks what has happened. When bear and adult moose fight in the woods it often looks like someone would have thrown a hand grenade there, fights can be very fierce when two so big animals give all what they have.

Here two links from Swedish media:

https://svenskjakt.se/jakt-prylar/lasarn...vuxen-alg/
https://www.expressen.se/nyheter/har-gar...mot-algen/

If someone wants to read article, Swedish translates to English quite good in google translator.
