There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

They all are doing well and, yes they are still with their pride, though probably not for much longer.

Are these ROSS males? They are doing fantastic for a 11 yrs old male. Well how many sons of Ross males are in Birmingham pride.
I know Birmingham young male sired by old avoca/ giraffe males.
In the subadult group, the largest one ( who turns 5 this feb.) also sired by old avocas / giraffe. Also the subadults born in mid 2018 maybe of old avocas or Ross males.
The whitelion and his littermate ( born in October-nov 2018) we're definitely sired by ROSS males. And the one born after them including the cubs too.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

In the core BP there are 4 males subs sired by Ross.  The core Pride does not have any males sired by the Old Avoca/Giraffe.  Only the Breakaway does.  They have maybe 3 others (of the 7 ) in the Breakaway I believe

Watch the Birmingham Lion Pride, with its two White Lions (Male and Female) trying to hunt a Warthog Family without success.
They then decided to cross the road and look for prey somewhere else.
Filmed on the R531 about 5 Km west of Orpen Gate, Kruger National Park.

Casper the White Lion is only ONE of THREE White Lions currently alive in the wild.
The other two White Lions - a Male and a Female - are from the Birmingham Pride and their territory are in the Ngala Private Game Reserve to the west of Kruger National Park.

From time to time the Birmingham Pride wanders into Kruger Park close to Orpen Rest-camp area.
The Birmingham pride is the prominent pride of Ngala Private Game Reserve.
The current dominant coalition of the Birmingham Pride are two males known as the Ross Males, who took over the Pride in early 2018 and were born in December 2010
Their two White Lion offspring's are currently about 3.5 to 4 years old.

The Birmingham pride currently consists of five adult lionesses, eight sub-adults born approximately between September 2018 and March 2019, and two cubs born in late March-early April 2020 and three new cubs born in December 2020.
You can see them all in this video.

Birmingham Pride has been seen today, blocking the road. It's wonderful to see these members are looking very well.

So in the summary of the pride the omitt the youngest litter that was thought to be two cubs and turned out to be four - are they gone or they just didn't list them?

This statement (at the time) from roan proved to be wrong.   She was sighted at least twice since making the statement.

WRT the video from “Africa Adventures”.  I can only account for 17 lions.  But maybe someone else can verify as well.

Not sure if they are direct sisters, but I think they're both believed to be the same age
