There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

An earlier confrontation that eventually grew to Baba Yao getting mauled a month later.
Two of the Sala’s males(Now dominant over the Rekero Breakaway Pride) were running for their lives as they were being chased by the Bila-Shaka males, Chongo, Kiok & Koshoke. What a way to start 2020.

Some posts, most posts,  around the internet made it seem that this short video was 4 of the "6 Pack" chasing 2 of the "Salas Boys" after Baba Yao was beat down, in vengeance of the attack.

Well, any person who knows about lion behavior knows that territorial disputes aren't resolved in single confrontations. The guys chasing get chased back at some point, more often than not.

Yes thanks Mohawk4, I realize that now. I had found  that video of the 2 coalitions chasing each other after I saw the Baba Yao/ Sala video and it was titled as if members  of the 6 pack were getting revenge on them.

My apologies for my post #42. I came across a post on FB on March 20th that gave confirmation Baba Yao was alive and well. I read tthe credits to the pic were from a well respected creditable source so I took it for face value. It was unknown to me that they changed the post a few days later and I did not come across this until now. I apologize and just wanted to let you guys know. Still no sign of Baba Yao  unfortunately.  Heres 2 pics, 1 of the original FB post and another of the updated that I was not aware of till now.

This is Chongo. He was by himself just sitting in the rain. It looked like he was taking a deep breath and thinking, "Before I know it this rain will be gone and it will be sunny again." Time passes so fast. Before we know it life will be back to normal and this time will be in the past.

Rock on Doa!
While his "brother" Baba Yao is most likely dead (badly injured by 3 Males who caught him red-handed inside their territory) and his other 4 Coalition Partners have left him behind while exploring new territories to the south-west (they were last seen some days ago in the Mara Triangle opposite of the main crossing points north of Serena Lodge), he is now the only defender of the Topi Plains Pride.
It will be a difficult task to protect the vast territory of the Topi Plains Pride and its 16 members, incl. 5 young Cubs. If his coalition Partners (at least one) will not return, it will be only a question of time until new Males arrive and will chase him off. I don't think the Nomad called "Jesse" will be able to oust him nor do I think these 2 Males will hook up as a coaliton as long as there are depending youngsters in the Topi Plains Pride for at least the next 15 months
Let's hope this handsome Male will hold on for another year.
