Mihir Majajan
The King.
He isn't the biggest tiger around, nor the youngest.
A great many male tigers, stronger and younger, fierce and ready to rule, surround (and from time to time, infiltrate) his territory. Grave perils and an extremely tough opposition beckons from all sides. His territory, in the heart of Tadoba with abundant prey and water is probably the most sought after in this natural treasure trove.
And yet, for the greater part of the past five years, he has ruled with dominance and majesty, befitting a true emperor.
Having had fights with well established males, skirmishes with sub adult males, encounters with sloth bears, he's seen it all! A lot many times, when bigger tigers like Ginaji were sighted in his territory, he was written off, only to come back a few days later like the proverbial phoenix!
All hail the King, Matkasur, for ruling a kingdom comprising of Pandharpauni and Tadoba lake, requires guts of steel and the mindset of a legend!
 — at Tadoba National Park.

King of Sathiana range, there are many males present in Dudhwa’s tourism zone and this is perhaps one of the biggest male out there. photo credits to Amitosh Jaiswal.

over the years, I have seen numerous tigers fight for Tadoba lake, Pandherpauni area and each year. there has been a dramatic shift in power. we have seen the likes of Katezari male, Gabbar, Namdev, Ginaji, Bobdya, Shivanzari sub adult, Bhola, Chota Matka and Narasimha. some of these males mentioned were either resident status, some mainly just used the area to seek refuge when the times were harsh and some of them mentioned wanted to take control of the area. with Matkasur present in the area, year after year. he has proven that he’s the absolute king. once again proving that size isn’t always a decisive factor in the world of tigers. Matkasur isn’t the biggest male but what he lacks in size, he makes up for it with sheer dominance. the true Emperor of Tadoba.

Khali crossing the road

just like Wagdoh and Bajrang, Khali has sired over 25 cubs with 4 different females. he’s the king of Dewada buffer, parts of Junona buffer and Agarzari. fathered by the notorious Coal Mine Male, his dad was pushed out of Bufferzone and forced to live outside the park when Wagdoh shifted from the tourism zone to carve out a territory in the bufferzone. Khali being a fairly young male at that time was living under the shadows and when the time was right. he striked and took Wagdoh out to rule the maximum area. 5 years strong and a force to be reckoned with.

Dadiyal male of Sirkhada buffer (Tadoba)

I’m sure there are a lot of people trying to identify him and just like everyone, I ran a deep search of all my database and so far i haven’t had any luck. he’s definitely a Tadoba blood though. he has the signature “TAT” on his forehead, a pattern commonly found on most Tadoba tigers.

he probably has one of the biggest skull overall.

even from the meadows, his enormous skull is obvious. he’s easily one of the biggest male out of Pench, maybe Tarzan is bigger. hard to tell.

Just an absolute beast, this is the most recent pic of him.

His skull doesn't look massive to me *watch @ 2:45* I really see him much like I did with BMW and Ryakassi.
Robust cats but smaller in frame, I'd still say Tarzan looks larger overall.

They are probably close in build and length but Tarzan seems to be the taller cat imo and considering Mukhtar has been seen for some time but none spoke of him the way they did Tarzan in Pench. Thay could also have to do with Mukhtar not being seen much until recently though.

Tarzan is a bigger tiger than Mukhtar
