Hello

Jai is young and mighty and in his prime. Nobody can harm him. there are reports that Jai is gone in the direction of bramhapuri.  so there is remote possibility he may go towards Navegaon area of Tadoba

I hope so, unfortunately it isn't harm via another tiger I'm worried about.

Im afraid his collar is untraceable, what could be wrong? I hope its just a faulty collar. talk about the reliability of these radio collars. still no news of Jai.

From the fb page of Varun Thakkar

Jay and veeru from Nagzira . Made this image just a few days before these two brothers got separated. This could possibly the last image of these two together . Veeru had a beautiful fur and lovely color as compared to jay, but unlike veeru, jay was handsome he was bold, and he was growing big really big. Both the tigers are not in nagzira now. Veeru is Lost (The one walking. would be really happy to see him alive, If he is) no trace of him since jan 13 . And jay has migrated to a new area in search of a mate.

"The curious cub..
This male cub was very curious and came down to gulp some water and also check on us. Later in the evening, while processing the image, I realised he has an injury on his right hind leg. We did not notice it earlier as he was walking normally and the wound was not noticable from a distance... It seemed infested with Maggots and we immediately sent a message to Mr. Raman (Field Director, Bandhavgarh) as the injury looked bad and probably needed immediate attention. The vet made a trip next morning and said it is not as bad as it appears and will heal naturally. Long live the future king !!"

wait,.. Tadoba? You mean there's a chance Jay will meet Tadoba tigers such as Saturn, Katezari or Waghdoh? that would be very interesting.

A little flashback of Jays life. here's Jay as a tiny little cub (2010). Jay the bold one, coming first to follow his mother A-Mark tiger, and then his shy brother Veeru appears.
video credit to deepak chaddha

again, Jay the one who come up first (nov 2011). video credit to Udayan Patil

a year later, as a subadult (december 2012) he's already as huge as a normal adult male. video credit to Jayant Vagha

in search of his own territory, he walked more than 120 kms to Umred-Karhandla to displaced a resident male towards Brahmapuri (2013).
now he's heading toward tadoba? he's no ordinary tiger for sure.

btw, i really hope the shy boy Veeru will show up with his own story one day

Pradeep Singh

So is this called the management of Tadoba.?? They said when Maya n Cubs were sitting on a kill April this year in the water hole about 150 meters from the road n jeeps all forest officials said we disturbing the family and about 7 of the officials n guards were stopped all the jeep going to the lake to see them n later on they made the distance between the road n Tigers about 200 mtrs n only five mins per jeep was allowed even if they are there by the water hole or not.. So in this case this fellow on foot is not disturbing them.? Think Tadoba how can a tourist sitting in a jeep can disturb the Tiger n how come he is not ..? How come this officer got freedom to stand on foot n taking pictures of family ...? How much is he paying to do that n they stop people who pay hell lot of the money to come n see them.. Just never understand this craziness in parks ...

Mahaman Male Tiger, Bandhavgarh, June 2016
This Tiger and the "Dotty" tigress were feeding on a kill when we sighted them on 3rd June around 6.30 AM.
The male had been cooling himself in the wet mud of the almost-dried pond and is now walking off to water hole for a drink. You can se the fresh blood, off the kill, on his right forepaws.

It seems like a whole new era, Munna is fading away, Bamera is gone, Sultan's reign of terror has come to an end, Raja of Bandipur and Wagdoh of tadoba are in high battle zones and they are quite old. Star male aka T28 doesnt have much time left either. Katezari and Saturn moved out of tourism zones. Red eye vanished and Kankatta has also faded away.

Good to see Bhima and Mahaman male from Bandhavgarh, tfs pckts.

Even the mighty Jai could be gone, although it's too soon for him, he's still young. I hope his reign still lasts a few years longer.

I believe Jai left the territory for his sons to rule and hopefully its not the end of him, I am hoping he goes the direction of Tadoba or even Umred. too bad Wildlife Institute of India will get away with the same usual excuse "the collar failed". Its a shame that his collar failed atleast 4 times throught his entire collaring history and its probably something they should be accountable for, what good is it if its this unreliable and Jai's movements cant be tracked anymore? oh well, I still have faith in them. they need to find Jai.
