Santhosh Narayan

The Grief of a Tigress.
I had seen her in April 2015 with her two sub adult cubs which were 15 months old then. Her partner, Masthigudi Male/Backwater Male/Euco was the dominant tiger and had fathered her two cubs. The male tiger was killed in Mysterious Circumstances in August 2015. The FD short of saying it committed Suicide gave various versions for its death.
Being mating season, this tigress is now without a mate. There is no male tiger in the territory which was occupied by her mate. Her growling made it clear that she requires a partner. She searches for her mate who is no more.
Like humans, animals also miss their mating partners. Felt very sad about what had transpired.
Kabini, November 2015.

Forsyth Lodge:
Great news for #SatpuraTigerReserve. Our Ampani #Tigress was seen this morning with her latest litter as she moved them from another area in the tourism zone. Our guests were extremely lucky to see her with her #cubs.

Munna is still spotted often, its crazy to see such an old, battle tested male still controlling territory especially in a gladiatorial place like Kahna. He really must be something special.
Great image of the cubs btw, probably one of the first times they have been seen. They look very young.

Wagdoh was recently spotted in Dewada buffer but theres no pictures anywhere, It sure has been a while. hopefully we get to see him soon. Sonam, one of his beloved daughter is carrying her mothers crown and ruling teliya and mohurli with Bajrang. The undisputed male of Mohurli.

I just hope they maintain the Teliya lake and restore the habitat like it was in 2013 and years prior. the numbers of prey animals will increase and more sightings of tigers. That's guaranteed.

Walking with the King!

Morning Safari, we were in route 1 checking for any big cat movement. There were none. No alarm calls as well. Then, suddenly as we turned into Piparhati Road suddenly we someone walking silently just in front of our tracks. He was Raiyakassa Male. The dominant male of Pench. We followed him a long distance until he reached the Bijaymatta waterhole.'

Tiger mortality so far in 2015, although only a fraction of this is actually the real number. So upsetting to see all the deaths from South India. Bandipur and Nagarhole are going downhill fast.

That is a very sad number to see, hope the number of deaths per year lowers.

Quote:Our visit to Satpura National Park was overwhelming. The forest had so much more to offer than what we were expecting. From Tigers to carnivorous plants and tree frogs, the forest is very diverse and can never fail to amuse a true nature lover. The park is away from commercial tourism and offers a secluded forest experience. In our hearts, we know that we will visit this place again and again regardless of what we do or do not find in the jungle. As for this Tiger, he has a remarkable personality. He is known to charge gypsies aggresively, yet stood a mere 10 meters away from us without making a sound, until the monkeys blew his cover. We were lucky to have an exclusive experience with him, before he vanished into the forest when a second gypsy arrived. We might not get to see him again, because the forest is so unpredictable and mysterious. But this experience is etched for life.

Does anyone know who this is, very massive beast!

Edit, sorry just saw this image was already posted

He says that it's from Tadoba so I assume it's his son. Not positive though

(12-06-2015, 04:18 AM)Yes. I know. Sonam and bajrang are teliya rulers. I have been watching her since last 3 years. No news about Waghdoh and Madhuri and no photos since June 15. that  disturbs me. before June 15 they were clicked almost everyday. by now the cubs are almost 2 years old. Have they separated  or with parents? if they have separated , has waghdoh and Madhuri donated their area to them like last litter ? and where have the couple moved? very keen and concerned to know.
