There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

you have to remember, Bandhavgarh Tigers are the only Central Indian Group that have no luxury of hunting Gaurs because the Gaur numbers there were diminished in the early 1990's and recently about 3 dozen Gaurs were reintroduced to the park but they are nowhere near Jobhi or any of the famous males territories.

Do you not think Jobhi is as large as he looks to be do to lack of larger prey?
I know tigers are capable of reaching large size while hunting slightly smaller prey than gaurs, 250kg+ sambar still can make some large tigers.
I know peter just showed that some amur populations reached large size while usually preying on smaller prey and sub adults.
