There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

LION EAT GRASS !!

Lions, and indeed all cat species, are pure carnivores. They only eat meat. They can't actually digest vegetable matter. You may have seen pet cats eating grass on occasion, and then vomiting. They vomit because they are unable to digest the grass, and they deliberately eat it to make themselves sick - it helps get rid of furballs accumulated in the stomach from grooming. Lions and other big cats may also do this from time to time, but they are not 'eating' the grass as in digesting it and gaining nutrition. They are simply swallowing it to vomit.
