Thats a big cattle right there.
The video of the lion attack, what were they trying to do?
They have cages and tarps, looks like they were trying to capture them or release them, not sure. Either way, some sort of conflict was occurring.

Amey Jambhekar:
Asiatic Lion Male, Gir National Park, 30 Oct 2015

Just back from amazing road trip through Gujarat. Most of the wishlist is fulfilled. One wish was to shoot portrait of Lion.

This is full grown male named 'Shyam' - among the famous pair of siblings 'Ram' and 'Shyam'. They are attraction of Gir now after death of 'Raju'. After having territorial fight with another male, this one was looking disturbed. He sniffed our vehicle,gave a terrified look and sat nearby to give us 2 minutes to shoot.
The perception towards lions is changed after the sighting.
Believe me, watching and finding lions in habitat is as thrilling, as exciting as sighting any other cat.

@Majingilane: I didn' t know this quotation:

Sasan Gir -A Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park:

It’s better to be a lion for a day than a sheep all your life.

I knew this one: It's better to live two years like a tiger than 2000 years like a sheep. (hindu proverb).

Which proves that tigers and lions will always fascinate us !

It's probably part of the recreational building at the gir or one of the lodges.
The gir is a remarkable place, the lions and guards have learned to live very close to each other with very little harm inflicted on humans.

Absolutely, something tells me that he'll heal up nicely and we will now have a distinguishing mark on this male to make him easily identifiable. I wonder how he got that wound... Fighting with feline or prey?? I don't know, but either way, he looks ready for round 2.
