Prob because he was not be able to grown mane like them..

I don't know if it is because he is a really aggressive male, or because he gets attacked for looking different (yes, this can be a real thing in the animal world sometimes, the same way animals will attack another for acting strangely), but Casper is a very scarred up lion. Perhaps the stress of constant conflict is the cause of his poorly conditioned mane.

Casper always has been looking more battered and beaten among the Shish young males. Around 2 years ago, 3/4 unknown males arrive on Lebombo area and have killed to some of the Shish sub-adults members. During those times, Casper was looking very beaten. Reply
