He bottomed at 136 kg and then the biologist Sandra Cavalcanti who was among the team that performed the capture gave the final weight estimate of 148 kg, she's an authority in jaguars and has released several peer-reviewed studies on jaguar ecology for more than two decades, so her estimates hold value. Only the biologists who were present in that capture, including Hoogesteijn, know the needy greedy of the capture itself, so if it was published in a scientific paper it remains as the official weight.
