There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Isa's second birth is a historical mark that testifies the success of our reintroduction method.

Get to know more about Isa and Fera's life journey. Link in our bio.

Regarding Fera and Isa, their mother seemed to be a large one, too bad she drowned.

by the way nice profile picture.

Thanks! I actually watched the live where they discussed their release into the wild, they confirmed to me that Felino actually weights 138 kg and is one of the heaviest jaguars tracked by Oncafari! They also shared about jaguar cannibalistic behavior, including the rates in which jaguars kill each other, including fighting females (predation on cougar was observed as well).

Too bad I missed the live my internet is too slow.

Yeah there's even a documentary they shown alot on TV here about Fera and Isa's rehab to be reintroduced into the wild.

I am aware of these canibalistic behaviors but These jaguars have to be more studied, the Refúgio da Ilha Ecolodge project is an amazing project which is partner of Onçafari and they're covering an area of Pantanal the ''Delta do Salobra-Pantanal'' the more areas covered the better for us to learn more about them and in this area there are some robust males like Prainha male and Neo male, Júlia female you may already know she's the one I posted a few days ago calling her cub on a rare sighting by Refúgio da Ilha Ecolodge project.

About the lives there will be some amazing ones coming:

Onçafari will present the ''OnçaTalks'' from October 18th until October 22nd it will be live at 6:30PM ( Brazilian timezone ).

Also on October 23rd Onças do Iguaçú Project will be with a fantastic live as well The ''Bafo de Onça''  ( a brazilian expression meaning: Jaguar's bad breath ) some of the guests will be  the coordinator of the Argentinian Proyecto Yaguareté and the upmost jaguar expert Peter Crawshaw himself.

They will also answer questions.
it will be at 7:00PM ( Brazilian timezone )

Onças do Iguaçú project:

''BAFO DE ONÇA is inspired by the worldwide "Pint of Science" movement, which brought the discussion on science to the bars in a language accessible and interesting for lay people.''
''It is an activity that the project does in bars, for example to reach an audience that would not go to a more formal environment. Maaas...in times of quarantine we decided to make a virtual ''boteco to papear "cozamigo" about conservation of jaguars here in the Iguaçu region - Atlantic Forest.''

''And look what friends will come to Bafo de Onça, colleagues! Super jaguars and mentors, with whom we are very proud to work and learn! Rogério Cunha de Paula from CENAP who always accompanies and guides us, Agustin Paviolo coordinator of Proyecto Yaguareté in Argentina a wonderful partner and the Giant Peter Crawshaw pioneer in working with jaguars and a source of inspiration and knowledge.''

Guys, this boat is going to bomb!!! (brazilian expression) Laughing

In order to participate just enter our Facebook on May 23rd Saturday at 19:00PM. ( Brazilian timezone )
Prepare your questions and invite your friends!
We are waiting for you!''

I hope my sluggish internet will keep up. Sad
I wasn't aware of this live, thank you for posting the information here! It's amazing to see how much new research about jaguars has happened during the past year and months, not only in Brazil but in multiple other countries. Jaguars have been so understudied and it's time they get the spotlight they deserve. I can't wait for us to get new data from Panthera Colombia about the Llanos jaguars, I'm sure weights and measurements will eventually be taken.

I was speaking today with some biologist who studies Llanos ecology about jaguars in the area, one of the questions I made was in regard to the presence of feral horses in los Llanos, they said that predation on them could be occurring but they haven't tracked the kills so the rates of predation aren't clear. As I get more information I'll make sure to post on here.
