Kambula youngsters won't share the fate of Mhangeni sub adults because they are in totally different situation. Mhangeni females left their sub adults behind as they went to mate with Birminghams. Sub adults could not follow as Birminghams were not the fathers to those sub adults and could have killed them if they would meet. Kambula subadults still will be part of the pride even if adult females will fall pregnant. Only worry about that situation is that newborn cubs most likely will not survive. Since Kambula sub adults are yet not able to feed for themselfs it will most likely will be too much mouths to feed for adult Kambulas.
Agree, i pretty much expect that those 11 older subadults breakeaway from the pride next year, there just wont be enough food for all, regardless of the new cubs.
It seems that Nkuhumas are in the process of breakeaway too, 3 younger lionesses are seen more and more on their own now that 9 young cubs are getting bigger and are eating more.
