There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

I don't know much about the Othawa pride but I believe there are a significant number of older lionesses for whom this current litter of cubs might be the last they will have the time to raise to adulthood?A takeover might very well prove to be disastrous to the long term future of that entire pride. I know lion prides come and go but it's always a pity when prides who have been present in a region for generations fall foul of circumstance and it can leave a vacuum that isn't always that quick to fill up again.
The two matriarchs turn 15 this year. One is infertile (Big Auntie) and wouldn’t have any cubs. Sassy is OMs littermate so she turns 7 next month. The reason everyone rightfully wants Gingerella (Sassy’s Matimba Daughter) accepted back is because ther really is only Sassy as a viable cub bearing mother ATM. This is almost conclusively Junior Mom’s last litter. The Tumbela’s success is hugely Critical in the viability of the Othawa Pride’s future indeed.
