1/2 Plains camp males
Run buddy, run! A male lion trots after a giraffe bull. It has little chance of success and him “giving chase” is more instinct and curiousity than real savage intent. Kambula pride with Nhenha and Tinyo hunting buffalo:
As rangers said, Kambula lionesses are not experts on hunting buffaloes, because in their younger days buffalo population was low, so they didnt have enough practice, but with youngsters getting bigger, they will need to hunt bigger pray more often. Lucky for them 2 Bboys are excellent buffalo hunters, and they did the majority of the work here..

Othawa pride:
As ranger pointed out, HB and Aunty Othawa (with injured front leg) quite often are seen on their own, trailing the pride, they struggle to follow youngsters, especially thru day time.. Their survival will depend on how long they will be able to follow their pride, and if will be left something for them from a kill, because youngsters are getting bigger and bigger.. 
" We were pleasantly surprised to see six lions (Styx Pride and Nkuhuma male) crossing the road in front of us and watched as they moved off and settled down for the morning, not too far from a herd of wildebeest. "
" We came across a huge herd of buffalo yesterday afternoon and watched as they quenched their thirst at a watering hole. As the buffalo moved off, we noticed a small herd of giraffe running across the plains. Upon investigating the cause of panic, we found lions, lions, and more lions – a total of 18 lions trailing the buffalo. It was awesome watching buffalo and lions drink from the same watering hole, literally minutes apart! "

James Tyrell have a great knowledge but always do predictions in advance and that leaves a lot of speculation.

He isn't wrong though, sabi sabi area is always a hotbed for numerous nomadic and bigger coalitions. The 4 Nw's, the 4 Delaportes, and who else might pop up. |
