This is the furthest south we we’ve seen them. As darkness fell and the full moon rose, bleaching the bushveld into a ghost-like replica of daytime, the lions began moving back north. A Styx lioness and her 4 young cubs were viewed at Mlowathi Dam. 3 unidentified lionesses were seen at Matshapiri Dam. The scar-nosed Manyelethi male and 4 of the Kambula lionesses were in the south.
i thought it was last matshapiri male with the smudge nose lion with 4 kambula and sn mangilane with the 2 kambula lioness? thx
Yes the Matshapiri Male was also with the 4 Kambula Lionesses, according to Oct 31st MalaMala report <iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fmalamalagamereserve%2Fposts%2F1690894527628831%3A0&width=500" width="500" height="542" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowTransparency="true"></iframe>
''By daybreak on Sunday the Matshapiri male and 4 Kambula lionesses were on Sibuye Drive. The Manyeleti male was viewed just a few hundred meters away from them.'' - oct 31st post(detailing oct 28th-oct 30th game drives)
In the comments the MalaMala account says ''No, it was the same sighting on MalaMala. Initially it was scar nose. Then Matshapiri joined the lionesses. Then scar nose chased him off again.''
So ye the smudged nose Matshapiri was with the 4 Kambulas, but Scar Nose chased him off.
