There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

S.Shishangeni and his condition at ~14-15 yrs of age is very rare case for a wild male lion (on top of that he was nomad most of his adult life).
Its always sad to see male lion past his prime, especially one we followed all these years.
I don't know if it's truly sad to see Mohawk this way. He and his half brother are the survivors. I'd love to see them both live on for a couple more years, though it's mostly likely not possible.
I think many of us wanted the fairy tale that the 2 of them got together. S. Avoca, Kruger, and Mohawk would have possibly brought a couple of years of stability to Mohawks old territory.
