If Mohawk were to kill the cubs, I think he'd already have done that, he either accepts the cubs as part of his coalition/group/pride or maybe there's a chance he's one of the fathers too, he was seen with the females many months ago too, and was mating recently as well, the sons never rejected them, the females accepts him as well, they probably would be more defensive if they had not mated with the old guy as well.
Anyways the younger NK has just turned 5, the other one is barely over 5,5, they are only 2 ( as I doubt Mohawk gave them any help in establishing and defending the territory ), and are already dominant males with cubs.
I always knew they had the potential to be precocious since they were big for their age, roared before the much older Kambula, and came from a lineage with precocious lions ( Avoca and Matimba ). Not to mention they are neighbors to the 3 prime Imbali males, as well, poasibly, the 5 Nkuhlu.
It's a bit fascinating that they were in the same area the 4 Kambula are, and the 4 Kambula are still nomads.
Out of the 2018-2019 generation from the Greater Kruger, I think only the 4 younger Kambulas aren't dominant males, their slightly older brothers are dominants for over a year, and even smaller coalitions of quite younger males like Imbali S8 sons and NK males are dominant.
Edit: It seems the NK males have at least 3 females, possibly more.
