There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.
I am starting to think it really is situational. A lot of times Nomad lions seem to be the ones that escape. I also think sometimes it's the lion themselves that decides if this is the time to die and how much they are going to push back to see if they do. I don't think Strength, or size or whatever has anything to do with it. How many times have we seen lions that for whatever reason have survived for years a certain way and then all of the sudden they are gone. Is it because the lions they tripped over for the 100th time in their lives just said this is the time I am going to kill them, or is it because that lion themself finally said.. I've had enough, this is where it ends. I think territory plays a part too. An old lion that is left defending a pride by themselves just says screw it.. This is my home, I'm not moving off, so you end me, or move off yourself.
I think we don't always view animals in this sort of way. I think generally we think they are dumb (I mean we as humans), when the reality is likely amazingly different. These creatures are likely smarter than we are when it comes to their world and their place in it. They don't have that self importance, and certainly have different values than we do.
