There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

I think Othawas are starting to see Scar (maybe Limper aswell) as dead weight.. They dont have any "benefits" from him, but he is taking their share of food.. he prob doesnt participate in hunts, doesnt patrol, in their 'eyes" he is not dominant male and protector as Skorro Jr, because he is too weak for that..he only follows them for food at this point most likely..
Lions do feel that kind of stuff..
I know a lot of people think that lions will "help" their injured/ill partner/siblings etc., but i didn't find that, if you are weakest, you will eat last and will get beaten up if you cant show power and get respect from others.. Thats how it is..
I remember that i got "assaulted" pretty hard when Scar showed those bite marks on his legs few months ago, i said it might be from Skorro in a scrap, some guys where saying its impossible that brother or pride would try to maul him, that it was hyenas..
Now we see it was prob not hyenas, yet Skorro and Othawas in a scrap just like it was few days ago..
I agree that lion society is completely built on hierarchy and dominance/submission, but this is a bit extreme. When Ginger was dying of mange i don't think any of the females outright attacked him. Neither did HB. Sizanani is the perfect example of a brother who "took care" of his brother who honesty was a lot worse than Limper. When they were dominant over the Koppies Pride for a bit, he never attacked or fought with him.
Stumpy tail Talamati- another example where the mother waited for and helped her disabled daughter. Even this is unusual since lionesses would usually just abandon a cub that couldn't walk.
I don't think Scorro or the Othawas are bad lions.. i think this is just on the extreme end of aggression. Like Scar wasn't even near them and they ran at him--- I've seen nomads treated better. Really sad for Scar but it's the way it'll be for him I guess.
