There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Impressive Wild Jaguars - Pictures and Videos

@Pckts  absolutely, their spine almost make them look like otters. I wonder if body length is a good size determinant for jaguars as it is for tigers since both cats are so similar. With jaguars the most reliable way to gage large mass is how wide they are, but if you combine girth with a long body, I'm sure you'd get a pretty hefty specimen as well.

Those pictures aren't the best in terms of quality so I can't wait to see newer and better shots of him eventually.

Also speaking of long bodies, I don't know if you've noticed but the Llanos males have very long bodies as well. Faculto for one has a very long body and a long tail as well, I'm thinking their tails may be longer because they live in a dryer more savanna-like environment and need the long tails for longer chases when pursuing prey.
