Beverly Joubert: " On the march. A herd of elephants stride single-file on a well-trodden path that leads to the water's edge. Using their bulk to trample thick vegetation or their trunks to push trees and bushes aside, these giants helped create this path, and many others just like it. A host of other animals use trails like this, and without elephants several species would be unable to access food and water. Elephants are a vital part of the ecosystem and their absence could cause untold devastation. Sadly, the animals are still poached in their thousands. This #WorldElephantDay we’re reminded that the killing is driven by greed and an incomprehensible desire for ivory. It is up to us to put a stop to it. #saynotoivory #worthmorealive
