FORGOTTEN MATIMBA SONS:

Torchwood male (born around 2012):
He was seen with Fourways pride around late 2018/early 2019,but it seems hes no longer with them because around mid 2019 Fourways where seen in Kirkmans with different male (5th Mantimahle).
No new updates on him, maybe he started a coalition with 2 Fourway young males (last picture) and moved on further in KNP.

Late 2018, with Fourways pride at Kirkmans Camp:

Early 2019, around H10 in KNP,with 2 young Fourways males (born around 2016,sired by Matshapiri males):

3 Talamati males (born around 2012):
These guys separeted after they got into nomadic life, 1 male made a coalition with 2 Mangheni males (born around 2013,sired by Majingilanes) they are still somewhere in Kruger.
The other 2 stick together and went into Kruger, recently only 1 showed  up with 3 different males around Skukuza (Three Tooth,Hilda Rock male and 1 unknown male),unfortunatly he has a very bad limp.
Theres no news or reports of the 3rd Talamati male.

Late 2018 ,Talamati male with 2 Mangheni males and 1 unknown younger male (he is the lion in the back):

Talamati male patroling their territory with 1 of his 3 new coalition partners named Dreadlooks, near deLaporte dam.

Talamati male is limping, but lets hope that isnt too serious, beign in strong coalition certantly helps him alot. Dreadlocks origins are unknown for now,but he is very impressive and strong male.Other 2 males in this coalitions are Three Tooth Tsalala male and Hilda Rock male, forming the strongest coalition around Skukuza area alongside Mantimahle males.

Mbiri Male Update:
Source is Umlani and Timbavati reserves

The males seem to have been in the south of their territory lately and some new males have been moving into their core, calling and marking. The older males did nothing about this so far.... two went north to check it out and ran away.
Source images are from Umlani (Sept and November 2019)

The last son of N. Matimbas, beautiful Koppies young male:

This young male is 3 yrs old now, from the last report 2 Orpen males are becoming very agressive towards him lately, so his days with a pride will soon be over, hope he can find a coalition partners. Red Road male would be perfect, as he too needs a partner and they already know each other from the time RRM was with Koppies, apperantly they'd hang out together then.

Rather son of Avoca/Giraffe males. As far as I remember somewhen around 2015/2016 Avoca/Giraffe mauled to the death one of northen Matimbas and pushed them out of the arena. Matimbas withdraw towards Orpen Gate.

Here you have blog from 3 and half years ago:
http://tintswalo.com/safari/uncategorized/16-19-july-2016-the-thanda-imp-males-chase-the-mbiri-males/

Avoca/Giraffe were already in full controll of northen Manyeleti. I am quite convinced they have kicked out Matimbas way back in 2015.

Yea but who controled the Koppies pride towards the late 2016 when this male was born? 1/2 N. Matimbas controled Scorro pride all the way thru 2017 when the last WhiteFace died.

If you could find any report of Koppies pride from that time, that would help.

Unfortunatly Tintswalo didn't bother themself to provive updates by that time from northen Manyeleti so also on Koppies pride and Avoca/Giraffe male beside situations when Avoca/Giraffe went further south into Thanda Impi males territory so i couldn't find any ultimate prove for interactions between Koppies pride and Avocas/Giraffe males, but since Avoca/Giraffe took controll over the region where mentioned pride lives way back in 2015 (https://www.facebook.com/Matimba.Lions/photos/a.775011842595589/1056693097760794/?type=1&theater) it is fair to pressume sub adult male in that pride is that coaliton's son. After death of second northen Matimba last remaining male from that coalition went nomadic, he did not remain in controll over Skorro pride. Second Matimba died in 2016 if I am not mistaken (correct me if I am wrong).

Shaka Matimba died in June 2016,some say to Skybeds, some to poachers, Slit Nose died in January 2017 after a fight with Avoca/Giraffe males, after that WhiteFace did control Scorro pride on his own until December 2017 when he passed away due to an old age.

Avoca/Giraffe males didnt oust Matimbas fully until they killed Slit Nose in January 2017,after that only Scorro pride was left in WhiteFaces control.

But this young male was born somewhere in late 2016, he could be sired by Matimbas, but we dont know who controled that pride them, and we dont know if Avoca/Giraffe males take that pride.

I pressume you are reffering to that video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JqxxsXobBM which has mistakes in it. In 2015 one Matimba was mauled by Avoca/Giraffe males, in 2016 another Matima was seen in very poor condition and died soon after. After that last remaining Northen Matimba left Skorro pride and went into nomadic life. He was seen reoming Timbavati and partnering with RockFig male.  Yet it doesn't matter much as we talk about Koppies sub adult, not Skorro sub adult and we know for sure that Avoca/Giraffe were dominant over northen Manyeleti yet quite some time before mentioned subadult was born.

"Slit Nose died in January 2017 after a fight with Avoca/Giraffe males"

If that would be the case then facebook post I provided above would forsee the future.

Here you have copy pasted of older Tintswalo raport which is no longer available on official Tintswalo page:
https://wildfact.com/forum/topic-the-matimba-coalition?page=8

Tintswalo Safari Lodge, 1-8 March 2016: We didn’t have to go far to find Lions

Matimba males
"We only had one sighting of two of the Matimba’s this week, but it was great to see the big males. They killed a young Buffalo at twin pans. One of the Matimba’s had a really bad limp, and it seemed like he might have hurt his back left leg during the hunt. We not sure what has happened to the third of the northern Matimba’s,  but we did get some info that he was killed by the Avoca males, that graced our reserve a few weeks back. It seems the end of a phenomenal coalition of Lions, is in sight. The impact that these males have had on the area, has been immense. But I’m no prophet of doom, and the Matimba’s will only be finished, when they’re finished. For now, we’re just going to enjoy whatever sightings we have of these incredible males."

Which confirms what I posted before.
