The lesser maned northern Avoca seems to be the least impressive of the 5 Sabi Sands Avocas, but somehow he does well with the lionesses. Here he is mating with an Nkuhuma. Image by Sipps Swagger at Cheetah Plains, December 12, 2018

Last couple days handsome blonde from Northern Avoca spent in Djuma.  He has a bite above his left eye, and he looks little bit skinny and weak.  He was mating with young Nkuhuma lioness and calling for his brothers. Finally, Snarly Mohawk, blonde Mohawk.. appeard to cheer up his brother. That was a cool sighting (safariLVE)

I noticed a lot of ladies on Safari Live youtube channel desperately miss the BBoys at Djuma, but I think these guys are pretty similar at the same age. Tough cats. Image by rozi1sa, December 4, 2018
Seriously I dont miss BBoys anymore. Avocas are cool. Espiecially blonde handsome one, he tolerate young Nkuhuma, Talamat, Mangheni (for now, but still)... how not to love him?  very calm, and peaceful guy. And very good looking.

"He was mating with young Nkuhuma lioness" :Lol  You mean one one ones sired by Boys? "Espiecially blonde handsome one," In my opinion currently most majestic lion of Sabi Sands, ahead of  Nhenha and Nguvu.

Sorry for my mistake, that was not younger one, that was "purple eye" lioness (born 2012).

But today in Djuma... Dark maned Avoca was mating with one of younger lioness, and that could be BBoy daughter.  I did not see this guy in Djuma for a longer period of time, last time when he attacked hyena just at front of her den.

  • It’s been a long time since this thread was updated but a fight took place between Nkuhuma male (son of BBoys) and one of the Avoca male.
  • The face of the Avoca was pretty bloodied and as for the Nkuhama male he hasn't been seen since the fight.
  • (Sorry my english)

Face of that orange eyed/mohawk avoca after that fight
