The Matimbas announcing their presence at Singita. Both look well fed and have gained back some condition as well. Good retirement spot for the old boys.

I have recently seen many people putting Matimbas age down because they in better condition and have lived longer than Northern matimbas or Majingilane. Well that can be a genetics and circumstances things..... We exactly don’t have any info about their ages. We estimated their ages by looking at their stature in 2010. And that’s how we did it. And if we look a bit back and  have a look at both group of males pics from 2010. They both exactly look to be around 4.5/5 years old.... And i want to you to look it for yourselves or ask a ranger from Manyelti.

I have seen MalaMala, Ep rangers and Sabi Sabi rangers and tintswalo rangers writing Matimbas at around 13 years old but fan bases on the social media have been putting them 10, 8, 11 years old. One on chene post after that video. It seems we don’t listen to rangers now and believe in what we want to believe in.

They're about that age. The Majingilane were 13-14, and the Matimba males are about a year younger.
I think it's 14 and 13 respectively with the possibility of Dark Mane being close to 15

looking at their pictures from july 2010, I find it hard to believe that any of them reached 14. I know 'looks' is not at all a reliable indication of age, but they looked younger back then than the young avocas do now. (I'm not saying I'm right, just that they looked younger)

Well let's hope they have a nice retirement. They should be able to hold that ground.  Famous last words.

the one that really irks me is when they were with the styx breakaway lioness they just ran when the brimis attacked the lioness and cubs and they just hid! that seems to be the norm when confrontation arises they disappear!

She could have been, but maybe she was in the other property adjacent to Inyati, Leopard Hills.

We'll have to wait to find out, but if they stick together and are able to feed themselves then I guess he should have more time.
