There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

They do, mostly on the northern parts of it and they have slowly begun making incursions more to the south.

In the far south of the Reserve, we were quite fortunate to spend time with the NKUHUMA pride in the company of the BIRMINGHAM ((MFUMO & TINYO)) males! They’ve killed a buffalo very close to the Manyelti Game Reserve/Sabi Sands boundary during the early hours of Thursday morning and finished the bovid that same day!

Male #3.

A Birmingham male lion was resting up on one of the main roads. Going through a drainage line meant that as we came up the embankment, we were able to stop for a few images at eye level with this beautiful male lion. Image by Myke Glasson.

The Birmingham male lions are being seen fairly regularly, and seem to be keeping a firm grasp on their territory. The cubs that they have sired seem to be thriving.

From Londolozi Game Reserve, The Week in Pictures #311 by Nick Kleer:
"A Birmingham male lion on a territorial expansion mission through the heart of Londolozi. On this occasion, he was seen south of the Sand River, further out of his coalition’s territory than ever before."
