Today I hit a treasure trove on FB..A page called "lionlove" that had many awesome & rare pics of Asiatic Lions.
However, most of the images were taken by amateurs & locals.. not professional photographers, so pic quality is average at best...

I recognise the car model i think (Hyundai Santro)...This guy here should be about 100cm high at spine.

This looks like an enclosure that has captive females, whom they saw/smelled...

Well, those specimens are some of the "cream of the crops".. Here's some more (http://wildfact.com/forum/topic-impressi...nes?page=5)

However competition is very, VERY high & infant mortality is close to 70%... Genepool is improving fast & is soon expected to get back to its feet
.

Can't say about stronger. Asiatic males average about 175 kg..more-or-less similar to the West African & East African (except Ngorongoro ones) subspecies that live close to the Equator.

Ethiopian Lions' size haven't been studied that thoroughly (actually the largest remaining population of few hundreds was discovered recently along South-Sudan border) yet...

These are some of the finest looking Indian lions I've seen. Robust, healthy specimens. A big thanks for the pics!

@GrizzlyClaws

My Friend did you measure Asiatic Lion Upper and Lower fangs? To compare them to African Lion fangs.

@peter

Do you have measurements of  Asiatic Lion Skulls? How do they compare with African Lion Skulls?

The canine teeth of the Asiatic lion are quite rare in sight.

I guess the current one is a little smaller than the African lions, maybe the historical one was about the same size?
