There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

1 of the 4 impressive Shishangeni males who delighted us with a memorable sighting last week, this male has an old injury to the cornea in his left eye...it just gives him more character!
These big guys are pushing further from their core territory at the moment and searching for more lionesses...

23rd Feb - South Shisangeni males (thank you Lions of Kruger for identifying these magnificent boys) on the S25. A few kms further along we found the Vurhami Lionesses with cubs and incredibly we had that sighting to ourselves (photos to follow of that sighting later) & yes one of the lions has a bit of his tail missing.

Coalition of 4 males Photos by Calao camp

I don't know the name of these males but, it looks like they belong to this big pride staying around Gudzani north.

I read some info on the mohlabetsi males and they have a very interesting story. Its the mapogo and notch and his sons into one. The older male apparently let an unrelated male into the pride like makulu was by the weststreet male, and later the two males formed a coalition with the six sons of the older male, bringing the number of males to a coalition of 8. Can anyone verify this?

Yes, one male is Duma's brother, in the thread of Timbavati you can read about them.
