LIONS LIONS LIONS
December 26,2016

An incredible morning on kirkmans today as we woke up to lions roaring in the east. With some amazing teamwork and enthusiam from all of our guests and guides we were able to track down three members of the Mantimahle coalition which were on a mission chasing another four Male lions around the eastren bank of the sand river.

This morning they mauled a single male lion who was with the sand river pride feeding on the buffalo kill. He was bleeding badly.
With the sand river pride in the area. Will this mean a pride takeover? Exciting times ahead as only time will tell what will happen!

There is a great confusion between the 5 Mantimahle males and the 4 Mazithi males (who were also 5 at the beginning).

After reading a little I've found out that both coalitions were sired by the same males, the two Mazithi males from this photo.

There are no dominant males yet, but as I've mentioned in another thread, the 2 Mhangeni + 1 Talamati were seen around the pride in December, 2016.
