There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

I think this is Caesar. Check the previous pic from the baloon, notice how Notch 2 has a much darker mane.

Notch 2 - He is a splitting image of his father, the Legendary Notch. One of the last 2 remaining Notch boys, they seem to be doing pretty well near Lookout. He is the most beautiful black maned lion in the Mara.

One of the last pictures taking of Notch, the greatest Lion King ever known to The Mara, taken in July 2012.
Born in the year 2000, Notch and his brother Blond, conquered the mighty Marsh Pride of lions in 2004.
They are challenged in 2006 by 3 lions. Though Notch and Blond successfully defend the pride, Blond is killed from the injuries.
Without his brother to help him, Notch is outnumbered. He takes his sons and travels to the Serengeti. All are feared dead.
But the Mighty Notch returns with his boys, and together they conquer 10 of the 22 prides in Masai Mara.
He reigned until he lost his favorite son - some say he died of a broken heart...
He's named "Notch" for the notch on his nose.
I am grateful I got to witness such a mighty king.
