Fabio and Other Lions: Just saw this post in Facebook detailing the lions around Fabio at Talamati Bush Camp. Anyone in here a lion Kruger expert in that area that can enlighten as to who those males are, other people suggesting they are 2 of the sons of Hercules and Sumatra and 2 sons of the Mbirhi Males from Skorro Pride, others also in the comment section is saying that all 4 might be the sons of Mbirhi Males from Skorro Pride.

Really do not know much about the time when Mbirhi took over the Skorro Pride as the sighting there is few, also others saying in the comment section that the lionesses of Skorro Pride was pregnant with Hercules and Sumatra when Mbirhi Males took over on June/July 2020 but 7 cubs where born in September/October 2020, really confused if the said males is the sons of Hercules and Sumatra or the Mbirhi Males, but other are saying that these males are the 4 boys of the Mbirhi from the Skorro Pride that is born in January 2021.

So if the Mbirhi Males had kill those cub born in September/October 2020 and the female gets in to heat and gave birth in January 2021 the said males might be of the Mbirhi Males as gestation of lioness takes up to more or less 105-112 days.

I just hope they don't kill him, he is in pretty helpless condition at the moment.

Just watched the clip of that male running, twice. For starters, he is one really big, impressive, angry male, and he is oozing confidence. First time I watched it, it looked like he had a hanging canine, but now it looks like that may have just been slobber. While I did not see where he ran past Fabio, my guess is he is chasing those four young males. Pretty impressive, given it looks like he is by himself.

The 6 Mayambula/Vlak males
Sons of the Mbiri and Grandsons of the Matimba, the 6 brothers were born around 2019 at the Mayambula/Vlak pride and are 5/6 years of age. They are territorial over atleast some part of the Sweni pride, around Satara south of S126 road.

Along with @Mapokser, a individual ID for each of the 6 brothers was made.
Earlier this year (2024), its very likely that the coalition has been whittled down to 5 after the disappearence of the sixth brother.
However, since 2023 the sixth male, even thought presumed gone just earlier this year, barely has any pictures in a very long time.
On the montage, one of the few pictures that its possible to identify him, posted in early 2023. Nothing really characteristic about him so its hard to tell this young male apart.
If not gone already, the sixth male is in the remotest of areas and so far it seems pretty much certain the remaining brothers are a coalition of 5 male lions, all together and strong.

#1 - Having the most developed mane during their early days, this male looks to be the oldest of the brothers. Nothing very characteristic except for the fact he has the cleanest face and is pretty much the best looking brother. (apparently not branded)
#2 - A very dark mane, looking as the second male in order of development. He has a X brand on his left shoulder.
#3 - Popularly nicknamed as Snip Tail, he has the tip/fur of his tail missing and a X brand on his left hindleg. He is also very well-developed but doesn't have a very dark mane like the previous two, even thought it seems as if he is one of if not the most dominant of the brothers, very often seen in the company of females.
#4 - Out of the five remaining brothers, this is the least pictured male. Also nothing very characteristic but is a blonde maned impressive male. (apparently not branded)
#5 - Has a very characteristic blonde mohawk mane along with a unique face and a X brand on his right shoulder, perhaps the easiest male to identify.
#6 - Barely any pictures but looked quite similar to the fourth male. (Likely gone)

Dark maned Skybed Son.

What a massive and ferocius beast.

Shame we have so little updates on him lately.

As for young males, idk, Hercules/Sumatra had cubs in Skorro pride in 2020 before Mbiris ousted them, but not sure if any survived tho.

Mbiris sons in Skorro pride should be around 3-4 yrs of age now.

No, not sure if i saw any pictures or videos of him in 2024.

Last i remember are few sightings of him vs Kruger Male in 2022 i think, before that he butchered and feast on few Imbali subs.

There was another sighting in Mluwati Concession in late 2023 in which i taught it was Kruger male vs Skybed son again, but that was Blonde Mantimahle son who dominated Kruger Male over females.

Apperantly he moved north of Mluwati Concession in 2023, and dominates area around Talamati Camp (possibly core of Imbali pride, or Einstein pride, this is also his natal area), where sightings are rare.

Other 2 Skybed sons (from different pride than this guy) are territorial on s39, further in Kruger.
